Never Ending Random Card Of The Day Thread

Let’s pivot to some sticks, starting with this Gordie Howe from 2015 StickWork:

I even traced the stick piece to this 2014 auction for a 1978-79 New England Whalers stick:

It looks the way it does because one side of the stick was sanded down to make room for team autographs, which made it easy to find a match.
Really neat to tie this to a specific item from a specific point in time.

My last two Crosby cards being shown this weekend. Both are ITG Ultimate Vault. The first one features an emblem piece of his Team Canada chest logo.

UM6 Vault Emblem Gold Sidney Crosby (Sapphire version)

Original card was the Gold 1/1

The area where the emblem piece is from is highlighted in next photo...the glove holding the stick.

Well, now that I am done with showing my Sidney Crosby cards, the next player I show should be Alex Ovechkin. They came into the league together as the faces of the NHL back then, so it makes sense.

Going to show two cards to start, because they are the same card...just different serial numbers and patches.

Panini had just lost their NHL license and this product was kind of a memorabilia dump of what they had left.

Both are 2015 Panini Anthology Massive Materials #/49

The first has a patch from the Caps logo and serial numbered 18/49:

The second has a patch from his nameplate (part of the "O" and "V" (upside down) and serial numbered 47/49:
