Never Ending Random Card Of The Day Thread

This card is from 2011-12 and is a little more unique then the quality patch. The cards from this year were numbered to 100, however some of the Connelly's were numbered to 99. So there are both cards numbered to 99 and 100. Not sure if that changed the number of cards in total or if this is overlap in some of the serial numbers. I never checked much in to that

This card arrived in the mail yesterday and I needed as part of the set. Two more cards incoming and will be another one completed. This is the 1996-97 Pinnacle In the Crease Patrick Roy #/6000. There is also a Premium Stock version out of 600 but that was never a set I worked on. Also I didn't buy the card because it was graded, I picked it up as I needed it and the price was better than a raw copy so I snagged it

That is a great hit!

The retail Prizm and Select were crazy that year! I was pulling a jersey auto RC or auto RC from Select retail at a rate close to 1:2 from retail boxes that year! Even pulled a premium jersey auto /25 from retail.

My craziest pull was from an older loose Artifacts retail pack: Joe Thornton Autofacts!!! Not a short pull, but super hard from retail. I was buying a Binghampton NY LCS’s loose packs from a collection they had and accidentally bought their Artifacts not realizing it was retail. There were only 2, so it wasn’t that big of a deal, but the 1st pack, nada, 2nd pack, Jumbo Joe Auto!!! Odds are like 1:2000, or something stupid like that.

I had a crazy luck with Prism that year. If I remember correctly, I opened 1 hobby and 4 retail boxes.

FINALLY - 1997-98 Pinnacle Beehive Alyn McCauley Autograph. I opened some of this back when it was first released and then years later when it was super cheap, and never pulled this card. For years and years it just never surfaced. Then maybe 10+ years ago I bought one off ebay and the seller cancelled the order saying he didn't have the card. At that time that was the first time I had seen one so I assumed they didn't exist. I was working on a master set and it was never a focus to finish until I found my want list recently. sO I did a search and low and behold this was on ebay so I snagged it. Arrived yesterday and now my Auto's for this et is complete. Still need half a dozen gold team and 3 golden portraits to finish master

I don’t have a picture in my album, but I pulled the Maurice Richard auto out of a single box like 20 years ago. Still one of my favorite PC cards :)

Glad I left one for you to get, because at one time, I was going after all of them during my Gaborik collecting days where I went overboard with my OCD for different patch variations. :ROFLMAO:

I only have 9 of them. 😄
