New USPS APV System

I use the Stamps.com shipping service for all of my US and International shipments. It's been a great tool and for those looking to use some service other than the ebay label printer, I highly recommend it. I just got a message about changes coming to the USPS. Thought y'all may find it interesting:

In the 16 years I have been using Stamps.com, I have had four packages come back with postage due and one where the guy was charged to pick up the package.

I have a feeling that this is going to be a **** show for the next few months until they get all the kinks worked out of it.

That's what I'm afraid of. I've been using Stamps.com for around 15 or so years as well with basically zero issues. I see this becoming a headache at least in the short term.

I don't think this has anything to do with stamps.com. As long as you print your labels correctly then this shouldn't be a problem whether you use stamps.com, ebay.com, paypal.com/shipnow or the USPS kiosk.... assuming the system is accurate.

I would hate if, for example, my scale was off by 1 or 2 ounces compared to the USPS scale and my package got taken off the line and returned for me because of a minor difference between scales and their calibration. I hope they allow for some kind of minor variance.

All you have to do is after weighting and package things up at home is take them in to the PO and ask them to check the weights. I do that 2 to 3 times a year to make sure my scale is correct.
