I'm sitting at the gate waiting to board the plane back to Calgary from the National in Chicago and as I have some time to kill I figured I'd show off one of my pickups from the show.

I bought his on the Saturday even though I wasn't going to make any other big purchases after a major one on Friday (that I'll show in the baseball section later this week) but then I happened to spot this little beauty at a very reputable dealer's table for a price I really couldn't argue with, although I did grind him a little

Here it is - from 1923 - George Hainsworth Paulins Candy Redeemed with only one graded higher!

Thanks for the look!

Stunning copy of a rare card in any condition. I'm jealous!

How was the show for hockey?

WOW! That's incredible! Very cool to see an old PCHA card. Feel free to bring it to Expo to show it off!

I added scans of both sides so you can see the redemption stamp, which I love about the card! This card had to travel.

mmmmm high grade vintage :)

Awesome pickup

PSA 5, Stunning card!

That's awesome. Good o'l Saskatoon!!!

Amazing pickup Jeremy!

That's a beauty, J! Congrats on this great addition! ;)

Thanks fellas. Now that I'm back home and going through my cards, I really can't take my eyes off this one.

Great addition to the pc Jeremy! I can only imagine how excited you were when you saw it for the first time.

I was pumped Al!! It's a card I've been after for awhile.

I've been to 7 of the last 8 Nationals and this was the lightest for modern hockey of all of them. I had four showcases full and my estimate is that there were enough modern hockey cards there to fill up 12, including mine. That's it. Vintage was probably even less. I hope next year in Atlantic City it'll be different. More NHL teams nearby may help a little.

Don't mind if I do

Great card Sir! Looking for one myself as I pc rc cards of vintage Habs, especially goalies. Any explanation as to why Hainsworth rc is V304A in 1933? Thanks!

Some people consider Paulin's Candy to be a regional issue (not distributed widely enough to be a rookie card).

Both cards are beautiful and worth obtaining.

Love that 1923 Paulin's set! One of my all-time faves. Great pick up, and a sweet looking card, regardless of the grade. The fact it does grade 5 with only one ever graded higher just is the icing on the cake really. Thanks for the share!
