NHL 2023 - Playoffs

I feel bad for Carolina. Svechnikov and Teravainen injuries are going to be really tough to overcome.

Dallas or Seattle tonight? Raise your hand if you had Carolina, Florida, Vegas, and either Dallas or Seattle as your final four. Bettman is either jumping for joy, or mortified, not sure which.

Come on Dallas! But who knows.

Seattle
Vegas
Florida
Carolina

We are talking about the NHL, right?!

The only way Canada ever wins a cup again is if we get an expansion team...

Not sure I understand? Were there any egregiously bad calls against Canadian teams, or otherwise nefarious things that contributed to Canadian teams not succeeding? The teams that missed the playoffs weren't very good, and 2 of the 3 teams that did make the playoffs have multiple superstars, including arguably (both teams combined) 3 of the top 10 players in the world.

I'm not stirring things up, I'm just genuinely curious as to what the narrative is here

You’re digging way too deep man - just that there’s two expansion teams left (three if you want to include Florida)… that’s all.

I must be blanking on the non-Vegas/Florida expansion team that remains

Anyways, my comment above was because I've heard so many people saying that the league favours the expansion/southern teams because Bettman needs them to win, without any real supporting evidence

At the time of my comment, there were five teams left, which included Seattle.

I don't believe in that conspiracy theory either... Florida/ Carolina will be good hockey to watch, but it's not going to draw in any casual observers.

Try to throw in a „neutrally“ comment from overseas. Watched all games of Toronto and Edmonton. From my point of view Edmonton was not able to score enough in even strength. At the end there were some ugly hits on both sides, gladly players did well (as far as we know at least)

Toronto was not able to win because Florida played very hard and left no space for Marner and Matthew. Florida did very well on that.

Sad for these two fan bases,…but Vegas and Seattle have a great team spirit, not best individual players but they do great as a team.

I stopped watching after the Oilers lost. With no Canadian teams left, I lost interest.
Will tune in Oct.
