Nhl 2k9/nhl 09

So i was at the store and saw they had nhl2k9 and nhl09 for sale for the ps3....can anyone give me advice which one to buy? Whats the difference between them? Which one's better? That kind of stuff.....

For PS3, I would say go with NHL09.

I have a Wii at home so I went with NHL2K9. We're having alot of fun with it so far. Finally figured out how to win a face-off :D
 
Never liked 2K Hockey games, NHL 09 graphics are better, gameplay is better and BE A PRO mode is fantastic.
 
I bought both last year and quickly returned 2k8..the play controls were horrible. You had to hammer on the pass and shoot buttons multiple times to get either to work which makes one timers impossible...I found out that it was this way on all systems.

Therefore when I stood at Best Buy looking at the two again this year there was no question...NHL 09 all the way. The Be A Pro mode is awesome...finally something unique in a sports game. Controls are good, visuals are great...nice game all around. I won't even bother touching 2k again.

Couldn't have summed it up better. I haven't even touched any other mode yet aside from Be A Pro and I'm already blown away. Game of the Year.

maybe it will be the SPORTS game of the yr,cuz the 360 has gears of war 2, call of duty: world of war......coming out a few months before xmas and i know one of those 2 will take the cake,since theres numerous people awaiting those 2 games to come out, and also considering theres over 5million ppl who play COD4 online....but i could be wrong,sports game could take the GOTY award

And with Rock Band 2 already out, Guitar Hero On Tour soon... October, November and December will be fun :D
 
See it was opposite for me I love last years 2K8. Offense Defense opposite line changes. You could match up certain lines, the contract phase was awsome and I really did like the game play alot better. But thats where it stops I went out and bought NHL 2K9 this year becuase I could not wait the 2 days for nhl 09 and like last years so I was like they won't take anything away from it right but they did they took everything out of that game and this years sucks even though it got better ratings this year than it did last it blows. Go with NHL 09
 
I bought 2K8 on release day for my PS3 and was not impressed with the player graphics and the gameplay was just weird for me.

When NHL 09 came out two days later, I bought it for my xbox 360 and haven't played anything else except this amazing game.
I absolutely love the Be A Pro mode as it so real life and intense.
 
EA came out with a great game this year....gameplay is awesome, graphics are great but two new additions are what seperates teh two games.....NHL 94 controls (waaaay easier for my gf and lil cousin to use) and BE A PLAYER is the GREAtEST sports game feature.....soo much fun.....go for 09
