Very interesting results from the 283 polled.

I personally like the best/worst things about your job, worse place to get traded, and I was very happy (and surprised) to see LA and Vancouver fall at 4th place on list for club players would like to play for other than their own, especially considering the top three were Original Six clubs.

BTW, Vinny and Mike ain't gonna like the overrated player list!

here ya go

Sid is so far ahead of everyone else on the best player poll, but of those guys he's the only one who scores a mention on most hated...lol.

Surprised to see Carolina had better ice than some cold-weather teams.

Overtime loss point is popular with the guys, so I guess that won't be going away anytime soon. :(

Can't wait to read the full write-up in the next issue.

A lot of interesting stuff there

How do you feel about the NHL schedule format?
1) There should be more games against the other conference (248) 89%

What is an appropriate penalty for fighting?
1) 5 minutes (273) 97%
2) 10 minutes (5) 2%
3) 20 minutes (3) 1%
4) Game misconduct (0)

Those 2 definitely stick out.

These 2 have become HUGE issues with the NHL higher ups but they seem to be an easy answer for the players.

Makes you wonder eh?

John, Ern, I agree about these two.

Heck, as a fan, I woudl love to see the other conference more. I say put it back how it used to be, play each team from the West/East twice a year, home and road (30 games) so EVERY fan gets to see AO, Crosby, and the like, and then have at least 4 divisional games against each team in your division (16 games) and then split the remaining 36 amongst the other 10 teams in your conference and/or a few extra one's versus big rivals (Colorado/Detroit) or division rivals (Calgary/Edmonton, Ottawa/Toronto), etc).

Rory Fitzpatrick gets one vote for best player in the league. Glad to see there is one NHLer out there with a sense of humour... Make that two, since someone voted for Eric Goddard.

I see they left out a question I found interesting last year when they did this pole. They asked which team complained and whined the most and Toronto got 60% of the vote.

John

last year = Pat Quinn

Not nearly as bad this year

I heard James Duthie comment on TSN that Mike Fisher was selected most frequently as the most underrated player. Anyone know if this was part of this poll or was it a separate one altogether?

This one kinda surprised me, but I love it! Good to know the players still want to see fighting.

Would you rather see a fourth-line roster spot go to:
1) An enforcer (177) 66%
2) A skilled player who can play the power play and participate in the
shootout (93) 34%

And this one made me laugh.

What’s the worst thing about your job?
14) Cam Janssen (1) 0.4%
