NHL TimCards?

There are 2 new TimCards (Tim Horton Gift Cards) here in the KW area:
1) Toronto Maple Leaf Emblem
2) NHL League

I recently stumbled upon an Ottawa Senators version.

Anyone know if these are available for all Canadian Teams? Likely a promo leading up to the All Star game, since it is sponsored by Timmies.

I've never understood why Tim Horton's never offered a card set as a premium...ITG would be THE PERFECT fit for them.

My guess is to avoid the backlash from marketing coffee to kids, much like why McDonald's discontinued their hockey cards.

There's plenty of other stuff they can market to kids, e.g. 5 up to 5 packs with a box of TimBits or buy a milk get a card, a la the sunkist promo.

The McD's line is a bit of hogwash. The real reason is the product line was because of declining sales. McD's could've easily adjusted their program and sold it in their healthier happy meals.

Ultimately, any premium has a cost-benefit. McD's used to have a huge increase in sales around the card promotion time; but I'd wager that the cost to have the cards produced (which inevitably they ate a huge part of) was something they were absorbing a loss on because they were charging so little per pack. By selling it with a soda, which was the item that they had the highest income vs. expense margin on. (In fact I remember the proviso being at most restaurants that you had to get the drink in order to get the packs).
