Those of you who have dealt with me know I don't often post my breaks, but I'm making one of my rare exceptions.

Yesterday I dropped into my favourite shop, Maple Leaf Sports here in Calgary. What makes it such a favourite? Well, Darren's a terrific proprietor who actually seems excited at his customers' good pulls, the stock on hand is great, and he always has some little extra in the store from a low price on some older product he's acquired, or that hard-to-find box that pops up every now and then.

Besides, Maple Leaf Sports is just a darn attractive name for a Leaf collector like I am.

Anyway, yesterday I dropped in to visit and pick up some Goudey baseball (yes, baseball which I last opened a pack of in 1968!) and Darren has some 03-04 Trilogy Hockey as a special buy.

5 packs left in the box, figure I'll open a few.

A few turned into all 5 packs, a product I didn't even open when it came out. So see what came out of the box, and then I have a question for those who know the product....

some nice base like Gretzky and Lemieux...

Ruutu Rookie /499

the autos...

Yzerman Crest of Honor...

and the big prize...

Orr Crest of Honour...

Can someone help me and let me know if this is the common crest, the variation, or some more-limited version of the Crest of Honor card?

ALL NFT at this time.

thanks for the look and I look forward to your answers to my question.

Michael.

Wow those are some sweet pulls.

I'm not surprised you enjoy visiting Maple Leaf as Darren runs a great store, even though its one of the smaller ones I've been too. Besides Wayne's in Edmonton, my second favorite is Darren's store because of his selection.

Congrats on the pickups.

Thanks for the comments and help guys.

Oilersrule.. I was in Wayne's store in Edmonton two weeks ago for the first time. Spent a long time talking to Nikki and Wayne; Brian (Langway05) even dropped in for a very enjoyable visit too even though it was well out of his way that day.

I can see why it's such a favourite and why it's store of the year. So much room.

But, for a small as it may be in area, Darren's store is a lot bigger in feel due to his manner and his stock. And monthly trading nights there are packed making it a lot of fun.

As a side note, I understand Darren is going to the show in Toronto as a dealer, and Wayne is going as a buyer so they'll both be there in some capacity.

Michael.

Not bad breaks at all. Congrats!

Being in Ontario, I've never had the chance to visit Darrens or Wayne's, but I've met them both at the Expo and both are standup guys, and I can understand why people would enjoy dealing with them on a regular basis.

Heh. Usually I find it's the other way 'round, and I'd still say the same of you an' your shop.

I would think some sort of rebate may be in order, God knows I've spent enough in there... I get the feeling it will be in CFL boxes... :p

I will definitely miss pizza, errrrr, uuhmmm, Trader Night at Darren's. I've known Darren a lot of years, and will miss being able to go up there and buy, trade, shoot the crap, etc.

Hopefully, Darren still remembers me when nice Canuck stuff comes in, so I don't completely rid myself of being 'gouged' on a monthly basis! :D ;)

Michael, congrats on the Orr ... very nice :)

I also frequently visit Darren's ~ MLS, a great place to hang out. Monthly trading nights are always a great time.

Yes Orca... we'll miss you, too.
Now we'll have no one to dump... er... I mean... trade our "Nucks stuff to.

All the best to you and I for one will keep you in mind when I see the Orca on a jersey.

Michael, that Orr is sharp, I really liked those patch variation cards from 03/04 Trilogy. Congrats on all your pickups.:)
