I seen the same thing on a bossy stick card at the acadia show in calgary.

Is it safe to assume that a lot of the plain-wood stick cards are taken from the INSIDES of the stick, whether it be the blade or the shaft?

I would think that a piece taken from the outside of a stick would not appear as plain wood. And its not just old sticks - new stick pieces from current products often have the same features.

Anyway, if it's an inside-the-stick piece, I ... pretty strongly doubt it could have been signed.
