Just a cool little story.

My sister works with kids who have cancer and a lot of celebrities visit the kids from time to time.

Just last week Lance Armstrong and Tony Hawk stopped in together unannounced.

Well I guess today Craig Conroy of the Kings came in and signed a bunch of hats for the kids. My sis said he came up and offered one to her and some of her co-workers but she declined for herself but had it personalized to my son instead.

On his way out I guess Conroy just brought the rest of his hats and signed them all for them to give out as they saw fit.

My sis called me and said she had gotten me one but it was not personalized like my son's. I said give it to one of the kids so thankfully she is taking it after work to a 19 year old who is very ill.

Man, there are some good people in this world. Good for Craig Conroy and others like him who do this kind of stuff. I hate the celebs/athletes who need the whole press kit on their visits. The guys that do it on their own time and without any publicity are the real good guys.

Just thought I'd share another warm story as you all know I have a family member and friend both currently battling terminal cancer.

What a great story! It's so nice to hear hockey players and athletes in general just doing something because it's the right thing to do.. it's a shame that a story like that wouldn't make the sports news, but all the negative stories always do..

That's great to hear, I'm sure that the kids enjoyed that very much. It's awesome how something as simple as having a hockey player visit them can brighten up their day completely.

Guys, thanks for all the replies.

I actually forgot to tell you all the funny part of this story.

My sister calls me like 4 times in a row yesterday. I was busy so I couldn't answer but on the 4th calkl I finally decided to pick up.

She says in the phone, whispering as to not be overheard I'm sure, "What's the first name of a Connelly on the Kings?"

I say there is no such player but since I was online I double checked the training camp roster.

I say "Sorry sis, no such player. I said a Ducks guy maybe?"

She then says "He is # 21."

I said, "Nope".

The it hit me, a player with a number in the twenties and a last name starting with C O. I said "You mean Craig Conroy # 21?"

She bursts out in lowered, but higher tone, "YES! THAT'S HIM!" and I hear her whispering to her all her friends/co-workers, "My brother says his name is Craig." LOL, it was kinda funny.

Guess I forgot to mention that since I was caught up in the warm-hearted part of the story!
