So the mayors of Toronto and Mississauga have made it mandatory to wear a mask inside public spaces from July 7 to at least end of September. With this news, there’s no way the Fall Expo happens 6 weeks or so after in my opinion.

Was never going to happen. I have had this at zero percent chance for a few months.

Next years Spring expo is at risk as well.

Yeah the fall expo was written off in my book a while back, large gatherings are toast for this year. Hopefully the virtual expo catches on because it's going to be all we've got for the next while.

As long as the US keeps putting up Covid World Championship caliber numbers, that border is staying closed.

That being said, there is a push to make masks mandatory in hopes of opening up shops and malls and taking the limits off of things like transit. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Fall and Spring Expo cancelled in place of the virtual Expo (with much better prepared dealers this time...hopefully) but I ALSO wouldn't be surprised to see an Expo where fever checks at the door and masks are made mandatory, with ejections from the show floor a thing for those wearing tinfoil hats.

Hadn't given it much thought, but if I'd been asked: Yeah, I would have agreed with you. No chance it happens.

Spring Expo? Maybe.

Just got the notification too regarding the in-person Fall Expo.

Sad, but expected.

This is from this morning’s email. I can see how it is disappointing for regular attendees, but for someone like myself, who has never attended and lives across the country, this is an exciting opportunity to interact with dealers I’ve never had contact with before. Like everyone else I look forward to the time when things return to “normal” but in the meantime I applaud the show organizers for moving forward with another virtual expo.

“Show owners Mitch Adelstein (Chicago) and Steve Menzie (Toronto) are announcing their intention to co-produce the next Virtual Sport Card Expo this November!

Menzie and Adelstein have joined forces to create the first and biggest multi-country virtual sports collectibles show that the hobby has ever seen: THE VIRTUAL SPORT CARD EXPO 2.0 will take place on November 21& 22 where dealers and collectors can buy and sell in real time!”

Disappointed as I enjoy my trips North of the Border. Was not impressed with the 1st Virtual Expo. Hopefully this one will be better. Hope not to see dealers eating thier lunch during a live feed or no one in the screen.

I think (and hope) that there will be more dealers who will be more prepared this time around. We'll see what happens come November. Lots of eyes will be on this event for sure.

Yeah, until there are widespread vaccinations, or Ontario gets their act together to slow the spread, expect the Expo to remain virtual. Never mind the US border closure.
