I dont think there is a debate about him being a HOFer--he is in and he still wants to play one more year after this.
He should approach 600 homeruns and 3200 hits, if thats not a HOFer I dont know what is. Its not his fault he played so long at a high level. His career average is still .289.
Never been on the DL, that is an accomplishment in its own right.
