Hello, HI folks.

Planning my first ever visit tor Sport Card Expo TORONTO. Noticed that details on the web site are scarce so far i.e. admission prices, etc.

Any idea what someone could expect to pay? Thinking I would attend on 3 out of the 4 days. Are there weekend passes for the event, parking, or both? I would be coming from Winnipeg.

How much is parking? Asking because public transit not really an option - would be staying in Scarborough in a very familiar AirBNB and visiting family and friends when not at EXPO.

Any helpful info for an Expo Rookie? Thanks for any helpful hints!

Tickets will be going on sale soon. You can either purchase a day pass, or a Gold/Silver/Bronze VIP package.

Thursday is a preview night for the general public.

We will be selling individual day tickets, or weekend passes that cover Thursday-Sunday.

Yes, there are food options in the building!

Not sure if anyone has given you tips outside this thread but here are a few things as someone who lives in the Toronto area and has been to a number of Expos.

1. Whatever day/days you plan on going, get there early, probably 30-45 minutes before doors open. This allows you to get a fair parking space. If you come say 2 hours in, you're going to be circling for parking or parking a little walk away - especially Saturday and Sunday.

2. If you want to avoid the big line for general admission - pending you want to be there when the doors open - go for a Bronze package (Thursday to Sunday) for the weekend. Gets you in 15 minutes early (separate line), you avoid the rush of people walking in all at the same time. Silver and Gold packages get you in 30 minutes prior to general admission each day.

3. I should really take this one to heart more but - have a plan. Weave, start on one side, make markers of certain "landmarks" in the facility - whatever you think works for you. Compared to a normal sized card show, you forget where you've been, you forget what you've seen.

4. Food is available via the food court and usually a Pizza Pizza, pricey as one might expect. Consider bringing something, leave it in your car and step out when you're hungry - saves you a little card money.

5. No hobby expert but - if you see something you like, buy it. Too many eyes, too many people, if you like it 20 other people like it. Normal card show you might be able to walk and circle back, but if something is priced fairly and you want it - grab it.
 
@ovechkincrosby0887 Thank you for the great suggestions. Do many of the dealers take "tap" payments (credit card via Google Pay), Interac Tap, e-Transfer, PayPal, etc.?

I'll be staying in Scarborough but driving out to the site so your suggestions about arriving early are very helpful. As for food, maybe bringing something (save $ for cards - heh heh) is a good idea.

Hope I can even meet a few HI and SCF people along the way. :)
 
Cash is king. Most dealers (99%) do not accept tap payments. Some may take e-transfer but as stated cash in hand is king. For such a large show have the cash on hand you can "afford" to have with you. If you don't spend it all, goes right back where it came from. Biggest regret of mine is not having enough cash when I know I have more hobby money sitting back. ATM's charge fees obviously if you need more.

GO Transit station is next to convention center.
ALSO if can get a DEALER Pass, it would allow you early access to EXPO.
That DOOR opens @ 8AM, Thursday (setup day), Friday to Sunday.
Also, a number of box stores within 5-10 walk with various food outlets.

Are you thinking that parking my rental vehicle at Scarborough Town Centre and taking GO Transit to the Convention Centre is cheaper on gas?

Notwithstanding the above, I am renting a vehicle regardless as the Saturday I am skipping EXPO to take Mom to St Catharines ON to see her sister, as well as late evening connecting with friends.
