Now this grading company is interesting

Yep, I've been saying the same. Plus, wouldn't this automatically detect trimmed or altered cards? It's time to bring automation into grading. In fact, it's been long overdue.

If they can remove the human element, grading becomes legitimized. I’ve had grades that seemed to reflect whatever was going on in the grader’s life that week.

If this process is legit, they’ll take BGS’ place (who appears as though they don’t really care, anyway) with ease and give PSA fits.

My 60 day submission arrived a couple days ago. A tad over the guaranteed 60 days. HGA refunded my submission fee by 25% based on the delay. Fantastic customer service as far as I'm concerned.

As far as the slabs are concerned, they are of a high quality/solid plastic with a crystal clear presentation. There has been plenty of talk about the labels/flips so I won't go too much into that other than to say I am very pleased with the look/presentation. I went with either a "neutral card match" or a "neutral team match".

With regards to the grades themselves, I feel some could've gone a half point to one point in either direction. I suppose most collectors will differ on opinion here based on their personal preference of grading companies. As we all know, there is plenty of room for "interpretation" amongst the major grading companies.

Overall I must say that I'm very pleased with the overall experience and love the way these cards present. They are all staying in the pc and are not for sale. I just wanted to share with you all on the boards....Now I need to figure out how to post pics...LOL!

I'm curious if they would re-grade EXACTLY the same way. Not that you would break these out to resubmit "for science", but I am curious nonetheless.

I would also be interested to see how they graded at the other graders. Again, not a simple undertaking, but in a perfect world, we all want to know what the yardsticks look like.

No doubt Joe....I am curious to see how they would come back from other companies as well. I wouldn't crack and resubmit but if somebody else does such a thing I will be tuned in for the results!

Thanks Moose! Perfect example of "collect and enjoy what you like" and not necessarily what the market/hobby tells us to collect...lol

I actually really like this company and their holders. I do think they are tougher to get high marks but in the long run that is a good thing!!! Very nice cards!!!

Yup I've heard (and seen) the same thing... HGA are very tough on grading. It's really hard to get a 9.5-10 whereas PSA dishes out perfect 10s like they're candy.

I sent in a submission a while ago but I opted for the 60 day sub. I should get it back by the end of July. Will be interesting to see what grades I get and what the slabs look like in person.

I can see HGA taking a while to gain ground in Canada but they seem pretty popular in the US.
