OK guys, here's the place to post any rumors you've heard concerning matchs for WrestleMania XXI. Here's all I can think of offhand (nothing that most in-depth fans don't know I'm sure, but nonetheless...):

-The Rock will likely not be seen at the event. He is currently unhappy with the WWE over their lack of concern over his rapidly expiring contract. However, he did request a match vs. Sting if he does end up at the show, so keep your fingers crossed...

-Stone Cold Steve Austin is a shoe-in due to his newly-inked movie deal. He is clearly on good terms with Vince and the company, so not featuring him at Mania after all teh publicity he has received as of late would be downright loopy. Word is he may well go one-on-one with Hulk Hogan in a match that would surely rival Rock/Hogan from WM XX in popularity.

-The idea of a Randy Orton/Undertaker match has been circling as of late, however the materializing of this match would hinge strongly on the unfolding of the Royal Rumble PPV, especially HHH's title match and Batista in the actual Royal Rumble match. If Orton does have a match with the Undertaker, the going plan would be to have Batista win the Royal Rumble and challenge HHH one-on-one. However, don't count out a triple threat title match between Orton, Batista, and HHH (I personally would lean towards this, as without this, Orton is pretty much left hung up to dry. Definitely don't count on Orton/Taker if Hogan/Austin goes through).

-A JBL/Big Show rivalry is planned for post-WrestleMaina, so expect JBL to retain his title this Sunday. It is strongly rumored that a barbed wire cage match will take place between the two in a post-WM PPV, so I'd expect JBL to keep the belt at least untill then.

-Bret Hart will NOT be at Wrestlemaina, end of story. However, don't be surprised if he makes his return at WrestleMania XXII next year, which the WWE is hoping to hold in Calgary.

Phew, bet you weren't expecting to read that much! Feel free to comment or add in your own rumors!!

It's interesting that Rock is even worried about a wrestling contract, he could probably pull in $5-7M easy for a movie since The Rundown got good box office and surprisingly good critical press. As for Walking Tall... well, action stars are allowed their fair share of early floppage ;)

Sting isn't signed by the WWE, but his name has come up lately in ideas for a Mania match. There have been little hints such as J.R. refering to Shelton Benjamin's Splash as the "Stinger Splash," but those could be nothing more than coincidences.

And I liked Walking Tall way more than The Rundown, ut maybe that's because I am a Jackass junkie. :)

lol looks like we have a www.wrestlezone.com reader........you should give them credit for their rumors lol

lol, I go to a lot of sites, but I haven't seen that one before. I'll have to check it out.

Well some of these rumors are gonna come true for sure. HBK vs. Angle is a lock, as HBK eliminated Angle from the Royal Rumble only to be wrecked by Angle later on (HBK gets carted out of the arena on a stretcher). Batista got the win over Cena to go on to WrestleMania, where he'll obviously battle HHH.

I do have to say that I was VERY dissapointed over the lack of a big-time wrestler at #30 (not that Flair isn't big time, butt who's gonna buy into him winning the Rumble!?). There were strong rumors about Brock Lesnar making a return (lousy way to do it IMO - no publicity for his return), and even a rumor about ECW's New Jack making his WWE debut (who wouldn't have liked to see that?). Instead, they duped everyone by sneaking in a storyline in which it turns out Kurt Angle wasn't scheduled for the Royal Rumble, but he bullies his was in. Oh well, at least it was funny to see Vince McMahon get hurt on his way into the ring. Check out www.nodq.com for the clip, which includes the end of the actual match too.
