Cause I have a feeling you are hoodwinking us here!

My suspicions all started with me pulling this ruth Relic from American heritage and noticing the wording on the front

Ok Game Used Memorabilia.. what is it a Bench? a Seat? a stale hot dog?

But then more followed

I bought 3 cases of Topps t206 and I noticed this on some more old timers

Back of a Jackie R relic

Front of card

and these seemingly not the same wood cards
of Jimmie Foxx also from T206

and the back with the ambigious wording

and yet my Hidecki Matsui is labeled clearly that it is a bat!

So certainly I am confused!!

is this a legaleze thing from Topps beagles cause a clumsy assembler spilled seat relics into bat chips or is Topps not wanting us to be so astute about what and why!

I mean come on a seat relic is not worth near as much as a bat chip right? Well if you know the facts it wouldnt be!

Topps Tribute is loaded with this lack of substance wording on many of its old timers relics.. Would we really eb paying $50+ a pack for a seat relic?

You have to ask yourself these question next time you are investing hard earned dollars into a Topps product Dont you?

wow thats very ud-ish, any chance its a wooden leg? i'd pay extra for a wooden leg relic

Topps has come forward and disclosed that some of the relics are seat and bench cards!

Looks like I pulled a "Babes *** was here, Maybe" relic card. Garbage.

Below is a recent e-mail someone on another board recieved from them...."I think most of us thought it was only the Wood pieces causing the issue, but from the e-mail even the Jersey's are in question."

Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry, please be advised these are memorbilia pieces and may not necessarily be bat or jersey relics, however the majority of the items are indeed jersey and bat pieces. Some of the items including the Ruth relics are seat relics from that era.

Thank you for your interest in Topps.

wooden lef from Bill veeck will be quite the piece hey?

But I am in complete shutdown mode with Topps baseball for awhile! I mean I think they tried to pull the wool over our eyes and it didnt work!

I called and emailed them back in august i think regarding the Ruth memorabilia piece i pulled from Heritage and got no response! I think Tribute opened up the flood gates!

I hope their highest end product Sterling sets on shelves until it rots!

Here's the latest email I received this morning:

Hello,

Thank you for the inquiry, please note on the back of the card it says memorobilia. We apologize for any confusion but memorobilia can include a wide array of items and is not limited to just a bat piece. Again we apologize and thank you for your continued support of Topps.

WTF?

hama thank you I got that also but Topps did NOT clear up the T206, triple threads or American Heritage issues I presented to them!

Geez, that sucks. For all you know, it could be from the piece of wood behind Babe's head in the picture. It's part of the "bench". And it could be from any stadium that Babe played in (home and away). Some leftover wood before the stadium got demolished. All the good stuff will probably be specifically labeled "seat". Even then, it could be the seats for the fans, so Babe's butt never even came close to touching it.

That's like the Fleer "Game Used Board" card I have for Mike Bossy. Except its from an arena that was not the Islanders. I forget what it said (or maybe I'm wrong about the arena name) but it was printed on the back. Fleer Legacy maybe?

i do believe that Fleer got ahold of a chunk of boards from Joe Louis Arena and just used that for all their board cards... i have Denis Potvin, Tony Twist, and a Bossy (i think) and they are all from JLA.

and yeah, i think it was Legacy too...

I think the old Board certified cards were from joe Louis arena in Detroit!

I was just looking at several of those cards this past weekend at a LCS. You are correct that they were all from Joe Louis Arena.

Those Topps cards, and their response, are embarrassing. They make UD's wishy-washy disclaimer look like detailed works of art.

Makes me re-think whether I really wanted Topps in the hockey market...
