This thread is not to talk about this hit. But who would have thought that one year later we would see this? :

30 goals, good for 8th scorer in the league.

No matter if this was legal or not, I thought he died when I saw that hit. To see him play that well this year, with one of the worst teams in the league, is quite an achievement. He will be the Habs contender for the Bill Masterton Award this year.

Pacioretty is exactly what the Habs have needed since... Stephane Richer?? A big strong winger that gets his nose dirty and scores goals.

Still can't believe we got him AND Josh Gorges for Craig Rivet.
 
It's pretty amazing eh? I was very happy last night when he popped #30 on the anniversary of the hit. Incredible rebound from a devastating injury.
 
Subban the "cancer" fought off a guy jumping on his back to get the puck to Max Pac for the goal. He's destroying the lockerroom
 
The hit is irrelevant, and probably doesn't need to be brought up.

The plot of this thread should be more like 'who saw Maxxy Pac potting 30 goals...period'.

I would raise my hand there, as Ive always like him since his early days. I played against him in HS back when he was in New Canaan, then watched him when he was in Taft. Glad to see him doing well.

Bringing up the hit again for no reason is opening the door for another argument however. Beating a horse thats been dead for a year now....

Most who bring up the injury are not referring to the injury, but the "he says she says" circumstance with which it happened. Just for the sake of trying to passive-aggressively rile up certain members (see the above "comment" for another exciting example).

Not sure how bringing up the fact that a year ago he sustained a serious injury, and how well he is doing now, is opening the door to another argument. To me it shows what Max overcame to get to this point ,and how unlikely it would have seemed a year ago.

Can't we just be happy that he is back playing hockey and playing well? I am not a Habs fan, but I still think ti is very impressive considering what he has been through.

I heard Elliot Friedman talk about how he interviewed Max and how 2 things stuck out. He said that Max has forgiven Zdeno and that Max wants to be known as a great hockey player as opposed to 'the guy who got hit by Chara'.

Max is carving his own path and is doing a darn good job at it.

Kudos to him and congrats on a great season. Would love to see a push for 40.
