I've got a lot of catching up to do right now. I spent a week away from home for a training class for work, and didn't have much time to do card work -- barely enough time to keep caught up on ebay, to make sure no important cards passed me by.
So, I've probably still got some deals to complete, and a few PMs and emails to reply to. I'll get to it -- as soon as I get caught up on everything else. Thanks for understanding!

This is the first item from a trade with Graham (yakacack). This item and the next one were sort of throw-ins for some of the other random stuff we were including in our trade.

This card brings me one step closer to owning all of Jones' RCs. I just need his OPC and Beehive RCs.

06-07 Upper Deck Masterpiece Press Plate Yellow Filip Kuba (1/1)
Here's the most important card from the trade with Graham. A long time ago, I picked up a Blair Jones press plate he needed -- the magenta from 06-07 Upper Deck. The future considerations on the deal were simple -- find me some cheapo press plate of any common guy, and we'll swap. So, this one was purchased on ebay for all of $10, and the trade was made! The Jones is in its rightful home -- and he's down to needing just one more to complete the set of four!
Graham, thanks for the trade, and for picking up the Kuba for me.

This batch of cards was sent to me from Pat (pmc336699). He sent them for free, after seeing similar cards in some of my mail posts. Well, here's another batch of really awesome stuff. Perhaps the best part is that they're all die-cut. That's seemed like a lost art form until UD brought a few die-cut sets back this season. I hope the trend continues.

01-02 Titanium Game-Jersey Alexei Kovalev / Rich Parent
This card came to me from ebay. It's a very cheap extra for my Rich Parent collection. The card in my collection right now has a great three-color Parent swatch, but just a one-color Kovalev swatch. Adding this card as an extra sort of rounds out the Parent collection a bit -- with two-color swatches on each side of the card.

This card is not for me. I purchased it for Sauli (BlindThomen) on ebay, from Lee (THERUSSIANRCKT). The auction could not be shipped overseas, so I had to purchase it for Sauli. It'll be going out some time in the next week.

93-94 Edmonton Oilers Ian Herbers (/5000)
This is an item I did not know existed until I saw two auctions for complete sets on ebay within a week of each other. I was able to pick up a Herbers from one of the buyers of the complete sets. There's only 5000 copies printed. The card is an 8x10, but after some analysis, it seems most analogous to a number of other early 90s sets that are checklisted and treated as cards. As such, I'll add this one to my Herbers collection and call it 100% -- a collection which apparently was never completed in the first place!

Here's a rare Tim Thomas card for my collection! It's the first copy I've seen of the card -- and it came to me from Brian (bmr1014). Since then, another copy of the card sold on ebay. Without me bidding on it, it actually sold for less than what I paid for this one, which was an absolutely fair price to begin with. Strange how things work sometimes!

05-06 Upper Deck Victory Update Black Kevin Weekes (4/5)
This is a card I never expected to see! It's very random how it showed up on ebay -- the first I've seen of any of the three players of mine in the set -- about two years after it was released. The auction listing was rather poor, and there was no picture. We'll keep it simple and say that the ending price of the auction was just a fraction of my high bid. This is an extremely important card, and actually cuts my entire Weekes 05-06 wantlist down to just two 1/1s -- the Black UD plate, and the Black Diamond Onyx parallel -- and the Rangers' team issued card from that season.

**I am continuing to update the Upper Deck Press Plate trackers. Here are the links: 05-06, 06-07, 07-08.
**I've had very bad luck with getting fan packs from NHL teams this year. I sent requests to seven teams, and only got a response from the New Jersey Devils. However, the Devils sent me their fan pack twice! I got another pack in just a week or two ago. Since it's the exact same stuff as the one I got a month or two ago, I'm not going to post it again. Very odd.
**In case you haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere, I broke the discovery a while back that many of the Young Guns press plates from this year's Upper Deck are duplicated. In other words, each 1/1 actually has two copies -- not mis-labeled, but rather two distinct copies of a given player and color, with the same sticker on the back. I'll continue to track this development as best I can, in order to determine the extent of the "damages" -- but I expect no help from Upper Deck in the manner whatsoever. I would be shocked if they do anything other than try to ignore that it ever happened.
