OPC buyback autos

My ability to find information on these has been less than adequate, so I come to you guys.

I pulled a Jari Kurri auto buyback from this year's OPC tonight. I believe the card is 90/91 OPC (no. 5 on the back, "1990 Highlight" on the front with a picture of Kurri in an Oilers uniform, "Kurri's Birthday Bash" information in English and French on the back). I know the auto buybacks come one per case, but that's about it.

It's not listed as an SP on UD's official checklist, but it's also listed as a Kings card. I searched eBay, both current and completed listings, and google searched and am still left with nothing.

So, my fine educated friends, what's the demand for these cards, and how often do they pop up? Also, are they considered different buybacks if the card itself is different (i.e., 91/92 Kurri auto buyback vs. 90/91) or are they under the same umbrella?

I can't give you much in the way of the information you're looking for as I'm not to sure about that checklist. I can say however as a Kurri collector that I would generally put about a $40 cash value on that card if you're interested in trading.

If it's a Kings version of Kurri I'll give you double that. Just so you know and all.

Those OPC buybacks are sickingly tough. Kurri, McSorley, I think a lot of them are SP's.

My understanding is that everything just falls under the same umbrella of one player. Nearly all the Kurri buybacks I've seen on eBay have been for Oilers cards...in fact, I have yet to see one where he's anything but. Most of the buybacks, however, that I've seen are signed 89-90 cards, with a few rookies.

The highest confirmed sale I found on eBay over the last 3 months was $60 for a signed rookie.

That end price is a bit of a fluke really, given that Kurri's name is spelled wrong and the auction picture sucks...you'd probably get a little more for it if you did it up right (proper scan)
