Hey gang, I bought one of each of these on Ebay and have got them both and they look identical to me. I can't tell the difference at all, so I'm guessing I have the same card twice. The question is, which one? Can anyone tell me the difference between the Metal parallel and the Metal X parallel?

Thanks!
Dean

The Metal X have a refractor finish like a Bowman Chrome Refractor card. Both Metal and Metal X are on the "Metal" Card stock. Be careful of the Gold Rainbow parallels though. Those also have a refractorish finish but are NOT on the Metal card stock. Hope this clears it up for ya. Mike

Welcome to the club. I have about 7 of one player, and can't tell which is which.

No matter how many ways people explain it to me, I still can't tell.

If you can't tell the difference between the two types of cards, then perhaps you've got the same type rather than two. The metal x has a mirror or refractor finish which gives it more of a 3-dimensional look. So the player appears to be more in the forefront. It's also got a lighter overall coloring to the card. So the metal version has a flatter look to it, is darker and not so glossy. I've put scans of each below but the metal card didn't scan that well, since it came out really dark. I'm hoping this more detailed description of the differences will help you out.

OK I'm not a complete moron (HONEST!!) and these cards look identical to me in every way, in every light condition......but I've scanned them and in the scan they look different.

So what have I got here? Any ideas?

Thanks!

you have the regular metal and the metal X

nice choice in your player collection also

Another Moller collector? Dammit :-)

So how come these cards look identical in my hand but different in the scan? What is it about them, any clues?

Thanks!

its more obvious when you turn them at an angle in the light and the metal x is really shiney. not really sure how else to say, helps if you have seen the baseball bowman chrome refractors and it sticks out easier.
