opinion on feedback... not ebay but HI

You got the card and it sounds like it was not an unreasonable time, even if the other party was a bit slow sending. I would say positive, but maybe a comment about shipping time. There are bigger tragedies in this world to worry about other than someone not getting to the PO for a week.

As a once in a while slow shipper.....i agree with the above. A positive feedback because they did as they said and made the trade. And a comment about slow shipping could be fair.

i wouldn't even consider a neutral for a situation like this. I'm a pretty laid back person, I also have a goofy work schedule which makes it difficult for me to get to the post office when it's open, so sometimes, like some of my fellow traders, get cards out slowly sometimes. I've also been on the opposite end, and it's never bothered me, as long as we're not talking Panini redemption time wait, then we might have a problem...

If I understand right, this issue was between town to town, not across borders?
So there's no need explanations how I don't have to time to go to post office after the work, right? Just add stamp on the mailer and put it in to your nearest mailbox, ta-daa.

Simple question to everyone.. If you have already agreed to trade, why not send it out immeaditly (or next two days) because you have to do it anyway?

In this case, guy waited 11 days propably because the other guy 'did not had to time to send it out', frankly he was lazy. Mistakes happen, I would give a neutral because he didn't apologize in any way.

But if someone has Negatives and Neutrals, that DOES matter.

exactly.

Maybe he got delayed for a legit reason.

sending a PM is pretty easy to do.

Contact him, depending on reason for slow shipping -- and as long as you get the card leave a positive with a poor rating on the DSRs for shipping.

there aren't DSRs on HI.

You received the card. Leave a positive. Sometime life gets in the way of the hobby.
Agreed, and really, 11 days is not obscene. A little on the slow side maybe, but then aren't we all sometimes?

yeah, life can "get in the way of the hobby". anyone who values the hobby over their personal life has got some serious issues... i had some transactions that were confirmed over the weekend that i didn't get mailed out until yesterday (3-4 day wait) because my son was here for the weekend and i had to work on monday and tuesday. but 11 days is a bit long to me...

If I understand right, this issue was between town to town, not across borders?

nope, it was canada to US, but the shipping only took 7 days.

thanks for everyone's opinions, i put this thread up not only to get some opinions, but also to give myself a chance to think reasonably, instead of simply reacting to the situation. i have cooled a bit (not that i was actually really pissed, just a little aggravated), and sent the fella PM asking what happened.

Well, I once had a pile of bubblelopes to send out and one dropped between my car seats and was left there for two weeks or so. So ta-daa
Sometimes it just happens.

The not communicating part is the worse.

I'd leave positive anyways. No harm done here.

Ok so for those wondering the person in question was me. I was on vacation in florida when the deal was underway. I returned home and left again for another week to go to PEI before i could get a chance to send, sorry. However i did send the paypal that was owed right away for the cards in the deal but did not send the card that was part of the deal till i returned. I told warsawknuckles that yes i should of sent a pm but to be honest it slipped my mind. i honestly dont care what feedback he leaves, he got his end and i got mine, if he cant understand where i am coming from , oh well......

Your end received,positive warranted.I can
vouch for SID87OVY8MALKIN71,he's easy to
deal with as I know him personally. He says it
simply slipped his mind,I believe him.So should
you!!

I have shipped slow in the past, but I always tell people that I am lazy shipper at times and everyone always understands. A little goes a long way when it comes to communication.

Some of us don't just stick a stamp on it and put it in the closest mailbox. As a preference, I always go into the post office and talk with the rep and have them do my work. Sometimes, I pay for more than what I should and other times they put packages through that lack enough postage. Imagine if I would've put the incorrect postage on the package and put it in the closest mailbox....

Some are strict in how they ship, I am one of them. I have had many things returned even from going into the Post Office, thus they take responsibility for the issues. I had a package sent with tracking to the US that was guaranteed 5 business days, and it sat at the border for almost a full month, out of my hands on that one.

I've also been slow on shipping sometimes, but send out a PM and every time, the other person is OK with it. I've had one package in 5 years arrive with no cards, because it got demolished by the mail sorter, or the cards were thieved by the postal worker...I didn't blame the other trader for the issue, but they were nice enough to send replacements.

Prime example, I purchased a card before the postal strike at the end of May, it never arrived, and I got a refund. I dealt with the guy before and never assumed that he never sent out. If or when the card ever arrives, I will send him the Paypal once again.

I've yet to leave feedback for that one, but I would leave a positive because of the outcome.

Then you would not be able to trade here on HI or on the other site for very long if you follow that rule as many, many many folks wait to receive before sending without sending a PM.

Does anyone else think this is kinda unnecessary, borderline inappropriate, and unfair to the other person? What if both people do this? The trade would ever get done. Folks who feel entitled to do this don't belong on here. Doing trades is about trust. If you don't trust someone, don't trade with them. Unless board rules indicate that someone should send first because of feedback status, etc. both parties should send at the same time. Period.

And as far as the deal I originally posted about, its over and done with. Read a couple of posts up.
