I will make it nice and short and simple.


I am one of the very few people on here who use flickr to host their scans. Just about everyone else uses photobucket. I prefer the layout to flickr better but they changed it up yesterday.

I like it. Nice move by those guys.

I have been meaning to move to Flickr for sometime.. Just haven't had the time to move all my scans over.
 
I find that flickr is very user friendly.

The only draw back is that it costs $16 a year to post unlimited scans. The first 200 are free and then you have to pay for more. I just stick to the 200 and keep it free.

To put into perspective, you might spend a **** load more to buy packs of hockey cards.

16 bucks for ease of use is peanuts compared to the grand scheme of things. I would consider it money well spend for what it is being used for.

Actually I think I just talked myself into going for it. I think its money well spent and its relatively damn cheap..
 
I like the size of the scans, but I prefer looking through albums that are categorized. Can you set up different albums on this site? I also have approx. 5,200 images in my bucket so that would be a negative aspect of the site as well.

I do agree with you that for only $16 it is a very small amount in the long run. I can post a trade thread and spend way more than that in just shipping alone.

Yes you can set up different albums. It has the same features that photobucket has. I just tend to use the free service.


On a side note my wife uses flickr to back up all of our pictures. With the new addition to our family seven months ago she wanted to make sure that we could never lose any of the pictures. She burns the photos on CDs but also uploads them all to flickr. Just in case a CD were ever to break she will have have a back up plan. She has over 5,000 pictured uploaded on the site. (yes she is a little picture crazy but they are pictures from the last six years or so)
 
i bit slow to load and when you click on a picture and press back, it will return to the top of the page and not where you were. but it's not block at work yet and I like the size of the scan. pm coming for one of your cards...
 
Not sure what the organize features are like or the uploading etc, but from a viewer's perspective, I think it is appealing and easy to see the cards. Again, that would also depend on the owner taking the time to scan the cards properly.
 
I use it (see the link in my signature) and love everything about it but the aforementioned fee.

-Easy to upload
-Easy to organize
-Easy to view
-Slideshow option

etc...

Mind you, I haven't had to use it as much since the recent changes and don't yet know if they're as "great" as the Photobucket ones or not.

You have to post all your scans on one page? That's going to lead to extreme lag issues for some people and some people such as myself prefer looking at separate albums to find stuff.

No. You can create folders like on photobucket. I just prefer to keep it to 200 scans and keep them all in one spot.
 
Photobucket was a LOT better when you could view all the scans of someone elses profile all on one page. Why they switched that you now have to go through every page separately is beyond me!
