Just wondering here.

Do you think players who will be free agents next year will have a harder chance of getting a contract next year if they decide not to play as they are given the choice and are still paid if they decide to play.

Also if they opt out but on the winning team, do they still get their name on the cup?
 
If They played a certain number of regular season games (25+ ?), I think they still get their name on the Cup!

And have any pending FA's opted out yet? If they are big names, I wouldn't think the opt-out effects them. A rookie who still needs to prove themselves? Then yes, depending on their regular season numbers, I think it could.

I think Mike Green is a pending FA that has opted out, not a big name though.

The opt-out date has came and went, so we know who has opted out at this point (outside of an exemption for Max Domi because of medical concerns). It wasn't a super long list, less than 10 I believe.
