OK!!! After feeling crappy about the weight gain for a LONG while,... I just want to give myself and others a chance for HI's BIGGEST LOSER competition. I have to find something to add to the pot,...

Thinking about setting up a GOOD COMPETITION!!! Need advice about:

1) Time frame: 6 months? 3 months? 1 yr?

2) People who participate NEED to put a card into the POT

3) POT = $50BV min card?

4) No that anyone would cheat BUT,... but how do we get a confirmed BEFORE and AFTER weight??? My girlfriend would sign something for sure.

Weight would be a % of initial body weight,...

5) Anything else I'm missing? This would be to a good cause,... my girlfriend is always worried about me not making it past 40yrs old with my crappy diet.

6) Top 3 -5 - or winner takes all type of payout scheme?

Nothing like a hobby and a CARDS incentive to make us all get back in shape!!!

Who would be interested to participate? Feedback MOST appreciated!

If I didn't list my Jordan Staal SPA AU RC,... that's what I'm throwing into the pot! :D

Dunno about anyone else, but I think it'll only work if the other competitors pick which card of yours goes into the pot. I'd be a lot more concerted about it if losing meant waving goodbye to my Gretzky RC than some other random card I tossed in. Food for thought... ;)

I am game and would throw in a nice card to the winner - maybe with the Cup coming out this summer we could all pitch in and get the winner a case/pack or whatever depending on how many people are in - would be nice to have something to try and get to that everyone could see.

We could all send in photos of before and after so all the members could see how well/poor we are all doing with updates once a month or something. I like the idea and personally need a little something to help me get to my goal of <200lbs

I got a better idea....

For those who take part, they gotta video their girth at the start.......better still when they're jogging, and then a video after the diet is finished.

Firstly, some might put on muscle mass during the diet so wont actually lose so much, and we can then have a vote as to whose diet was the most effective.

...and secondly it'll give the rest of us who aren't taking part a giggle watching you lot jog! :D

Whatever you guys decide....IM IN...

I think a before and after image with voting.....

Personally, Im the kind of person who can put on a lot of muscle mass in a short time, with regular weight loss.....

So I can for sure understand wigman's point of view!

At my office in Vegas, we did a 3 month competition for a grand. I ended up losin' 40 pounds the right way, but lost to some guys that were cheating by starvation and other extreme methods. I came in third, but the guy that won went to the hospital after the final weigh in...haha

If we do this....yes lol........it has to be the "right" and healthy way!

No sure how much interest there is here or not but I am going to start this on April 1st. I will post photos (even though my wife has begged me not to - how sexy am I...ha) and update my progress on this thread once a month or so - hopefully I can move from about 222 now to 199 by the end of this thing.

Anyone else who wants to join me is more than welcome - not sure if there will be any prizes but if we can all lose a little weight and feel a little better that may be enough.

Good for you!! If you're gonna increase your exercise levels dont get too wrapped up in weight loss, or at least stress if you're not losing a lot. Providing your eating healthy and exercising, things will improve. Muscle mass always weighs more than lard, although I'm sure you know this.

Yeah - I am more concerned with getting in better shape but I know that I can lose some weight as well and I don't plan on doing a ton of muscle building - just cardio and weights designed to keep my heart rate up and such.

That and I can eat a lot better - thats where it will be real tough - I can go and work out every day but I can just as easily go hit the Pizza Hut buffet every day as well - may have to tone that back a bit

i would like to be a part of this. my idea for improvement is that everyone takes a pic within the next week holding up a piece of paper or something saying what day it to make sure no cheats by posting a pick from 5 years ago when they were 450lbs and now after a huge weight loss...know what i mean? and i also like the idea of other people choosing what card goes in. i know my wife would sign whatever needs be signed

Like stated prior.

Im in.

My thinking is......

1.) Well....just be honest, do the natural thing.....

as for picking a winner....

2.) I say we do a before and after pic, give it I say 3 months...so July1st .. have that be the last day and final pictures (April 1 - July 1).... and the pic's/competitors in a poll, and see who the people pick for best improved......

So we don't need to go by weight, since, as stated, muscle > fat; weight wise.

not fair, im already ripped to shreds :(

how about its whoever can put on the most muscle mass and look the best with his shirt off ;) haha

Great idea though, especially for the heftier fellas, cant wait to see some before and afters :D

Although I am certain none of the guys here would object to this theory being applied to all....is there an alternative game-plan for those that typically don't run around with shirts off (at least not in public! :D)???

LOL....

Yeah, we need some proof the weights are up to date. Hold up the current newspaper next to your bellies I guess?

Maybe those of us in shape or with a fitness background (cough, me, cough)can be like the bully personal trainers for the rest!

I know one guy who may have started on this contest already. No cheatin!;)
