Performance enhancers are a touchy subject with me....I actually did a report back in college pushing for the legalization of performance enhancers in sports....Like an above post said players are always a few steps ahead of testing....I always go back to this scenario I heard a few years ago that made me take this stand.....Lets say there's a pitcher in baseball who has all the talent in the world...I'm talking an A+ curve, slider, change, and a 100 MPH fastball but he can't get them over the plate because he's nervous....Game after game he can't hit his spots and ends up walking batters, getting into trouble, and blowing games in early innings so he goes to the doctor, gets himself a bottle of zanax to relax and pitches a perfect game his next time around in the rotation....Is that not using performance enhancers?....The guy didn't have the nerves to cut it in the big leagues so he took drugs to help him cope....He flies under the radar because zanax isn't a banned substance when it comes to sports but the guy whose taking HGH to heal faster from a shoulder injury is chased down by an angry mob with pitch forks....It's not fair to me so I say level the playing field completely.....Sorry for the rant, especially since it wasn't hockey talk....
Now getting onto performance enhancers in hockey.....I'd say many goalies in the league are on some type on amphetamines for focus and reaction time (possibly even something as simple as aderol)....Look at Lundqvist in a post game interview....His pupils are the size of quarters!!!....I'd bet most players are on some type of energy booster as well.....Anyway I say level the playing field....I can careless whose taking what as long as everybody has the option to take it....
