I dunno. I haven't seen any of my cards deteriorate by itself while in a binder. However, a soft sleeve would very much be in place.

I once bought a small lot of cards on ebay. The cards were pictured in a binder page, which I figured was the way the seller stored them. 2 of the cards in the lot were a Bourque Topps RC and a Gretzky 2nd year, well the package arrived and the cards came in the binder page and they were all mangled to heck. It was disappointing, but I only spent like $2 on the lot. I think it was an old lady who decided to sell her son's old junk.

but there has to be a certain amount of professionalism, especially if you wish to sell the set for $500...

if the cards were shown in a nice protective case, you would be far more likely to make a sale...

$500 is a lot to spend on the possibility of a set (with 2 very expensive rookies) with some serious damage...and how do you ship that?

true, but wouldn't you think thats the cards you would be getting? I am not going to spend $500 on the possibility that they moght not be shipped like that...they are still quite open to damage nonetheless...

im not saying the set isn't any good, just saying thats a hefty chunk of change to spend on a gamble

p.s...he hasnt returned any messages i've left him inquiring about the set
