Overeem tests positive for elevated testosterone

I am of the belief that pretty much everybody is using something. So I don't necessarily find it amusing that Overeem would test positive given anything he's said in the past. I don't care how much horse meat one guy eats there is no way to go from how he looked in the Pride Liddell fight to today naturally.

I have never met an athlete that didn't use some form of steroid or GH. Just one look at Overeem says he was on something. Is anybody actually surprised? I say just let them take the roids and be the super humans we expect them to be!

I don't care if they're legalized or not but right now they're illegal so I have an issue any time a fighter is stupid enough to get popped. Overeem knew he was going to have to submit two "random" tests before the fight, what type of mental midget do you have to be to not realize that you'll likely be tested when you go to Vegas for the press conference? He's so ignorant for not realizing that and cycling off that he should be released, end of story.

I agree for sure. I don't think he even knows what cycling off means hahaha

Interesting technicality to all of this: Overeem apparently isn't licensed to fight in Nevada (he had to apply for a conditional single fight license for the Lesnar fight) so they can't suspend him. Depending on how badly the UFC wants this fight, they COULD move it elsewhere (it'd have to be out of the country, or some place that doesn't care about anything anybody else says like Texas) or...they could just not have it obviously. Frank Mir is asking for the shot now, and I guess he sort of is the #1 contender outside of Overeem, though I'd think that fight probably won't last the 1st round once Mir gets tagged really good. JDS isn't going to make the same mistake Nog did I would think.

There's a Twitter campaign for Mark Hunt going right now. As a long time Hunt fan, I welcome that...but well...I don't think it's gonna happen :)

I'll be honest though...I didn't care for Overeem coming into the UFC. I don't care about seeing Overeem as the champion, and I don't care about this positive test. Frankly, I don't see why this is such a big deal. Losing Overeem is no worse than losing Fedor. He isn't a home grown superstar...he isn't somebody the UFC have stood behind for years and years. What would be the loss if they let him go? A few nuthuggers would have their feelings hurt, and then what? He goes to Bellator and beats Cole Konrad? He had his chance to be considered best in the world...was told he would be randomly tested coming into it...lied to his boss, and yeah. Don't know what happens next.

If anybody was curious about what would happen with the Lesnar fight...the result stays. Keith Kizer said he was satisfied enough with what was done pre-fight that they don't have to visit changing the result to an NC.

It's just disappointing that we won't get to see the two best heavyweights in the world battle for the lineal heavyweight title.
