"It's frankly unacceptable for Ovechkin to put himself in a situation where this becomes a story," wrote Masisak.
"there was something that didn't feel right about the way Ovechkin and Kovalchuk were laughing and clearly having a good time while the other players showed little emotion after the contest."

A video of Boudreau's press briefing catches the coach glaring Ovechkin's way a couple of times with a displeased look on his face. When asked if it bothered him that two of his top players were happily fraternizing with a player from the opposing team after such a big loss, Boudreau paused before saying "I'll reserve my thoughts on that, if you don't mind."

I like what this guy says!

Big deal. It's not like Ovechkin can go back in time and replay the game; it's over. They're human and have friends too. God forbid they actually have a laugh in public after losing a GAME. wow.

not like Kovy did anything in the game either. should NJ be furious since their season is so sour so far and Kovy is laughing it up with players from another team? the media is getting ridiculous these days. as if there was nothing else to report on.

Boudreau is a bum and a lame duck coach, I don't think the Caps will ever win anything as long as he's around, anyone else agree?

Totally DISAGREE. I think he is one of the better coaches in the league.

I also think he is one of the better coaches in the league. I also agree that you don't joke around and smile a few feet away from a press conference after you play like you did. He is suppose to be the leader of the team and it doesn't appear as if losing bothers him. Away from the rink, sure, right by a media scrum, no way!

Anyone looks good with that lineup.

As for the laughing....I say 'meh'.

Childish I suppose to joke around and talk during the PC, but absolutely nothing wrong with him doing it in general. Next time just pick another room to fraternize.

Not sure why this is a story in the first place, but tsn has a knack for getting a tad too in depth with their stories. The Price chronicles from last year come to mind.

Why's Boudreau so mad? Is it interfering with his next local car dealership commercial? Best way to get over a bad loss like that is to forget it and look to the next game. Seems like that's what the Caps were doing.

It's unprofessional from a business standpoint. When your "business" is to win a hockey game, and you lose out, the least professional thing to do would be to seek out the person that just beat you and yuk it up with them in front of gazing eyes.

If I were a representative for my company and we lost a large national client at a public press conference to Randy's (Orca Pod) company, I'm sure the last thing I'm sure that the VP of my division (and well, the VP of his division too) wants to see me doing is sharing sandwiches and laughing about the hobby with Randy while our company licks it wounds over the loss of that client. It just looks bad and gives off the impression that I don't care. Even if Ovy didn't care about the loss, he represents his franchise while he's still there. At least save face on your superiors' behalf and make it look the loss matters.

My way of thinking about hockey when I'm playing is this
-you get in my way I'm going to go through you
-you check me I'm going to put u through the boards next time you're close to me
-your team scores then I'm going to do whatever it takes to even it up,stand in front of the net and take whatever, hook someone steal the puck, pass to someone if they're open even if I'm about to be rammed into the boards...w/e
-hit my goalie, highstick me,I'm going to knock you on your butt

Basically Hockey is war on ice....that's all there is to it.And it's a hell of a lot of fun;)
But afterwards it's all good, men fight all the time but after we do it's beer time lol(Well not any more for me but used to be lol)Unless you fight like a woman with your mouth.....or a sean avery lol.
But I bet you everyone wants to play the next team right away to make it better...no one likes to lose.Ovy might have waited till the media was out of the way a bit more I suppose.
Being a Cap's fan I say why not let the media wake my team up,pity the next team to face us is all lol.

I don't understand why this is a big deal either... I mean look at what happens after a football game. The players after the 60min shake hands...hang out, laugh, etc... nothing is said about that?!
anyway... silly non-story....
