That seems fishy, I would call back as they should offer a replacement. They might not be able to replace it with the same players but should be able to offer something.

hi

how can they not do a replacement?

the guy i talked to dave (panini) said its been too long , its been pending for 4 years , i called them threw the years about it, panini asked me what players do i collect and she would put in a request for a replacement ,

very sad, thats what i thought too , but panini said there is nothing they can do

I have never heard of them not giving a replacement for something that is in your pending items . I doubt they have anything in the same value wise . But they always seem easy to deal with.

Wow, that's absolutely brutal customer service. It should not be on you the collector to poke and prod them to find out how long a redemption can last in the system before it can no longer even be replaced. They have all your info when you file the redemption, it should be 100% on them to let you know when they realistically are giving up on receiving the card back from the athletes, and then they should give you sufficient time to specify replacement preferences.

I'm absolutely shocked they picked up the phone, must have been your lucky day!

Good luck with your redemption issue, hope something works out for you.

You have fulfilled your end of the agreement. You redeemed the card when you were supposed to. They have not fulfilled their end of the contract buy sending you a card. I would have to think that would be illegal on some level.

If it was a 4 year old redemption which you just tried to redeem today...well then it is just a crap shoot if they could fill it.

I would keep calling until you talk to someone who can do something for you. Contacting the BBB helped me at one point but not sure they really care about that anymore though.

Maybe call back and explain the situation a bit better. The person you talked to may have thought you had just redeemed a 4 yr. old redemption.

Also, keep in mind that it doesn't matter what you paid for the redemption card. That's not the value that Panini will use to determine a replacement. Perhaps that was part of the confusion in the phone call? Don't expect to get a $140 replacement.

If he can show a copy of the auction for what he paid for the #1/1 - then Panini should make every attempt to get him a similar value. This is not an item that has a BV or set value - it's one of a kind.

By all means - try someone else at Panini.

I'm confused. You spoke to a guy named Dave who said he couldn't help, but you mention a "she" who said she would put in a request for a replacement. So there will be a replacement? Did you ask for a replacement over the course of the 4 years and were you holding out in hopes of getting the 1/1?

Most recently he spoke to Dave, prior to that it sounds like he spoke to a someone else who was going to put in a request for a replacement.
