I called Panini today to request that they swap out some old redemptions. I have been waiting for a while on a Bobrovsky Dominion ARP, a Gerbe jersey auto /25 and a Ryan Whalen (football) Timeless Treasures RC. Turned out the Whalen was in and they have now shipped it out. The only thing I was being offered for the Bobrovsky was one of two Brodeur cards that I wasn't interested in, so I decided to wait out the Bobrovsky. For the Gerbe I was told that it would be swapped out for a random card of equal value. I figured that regardless what it was replaced with, it didn't really matter as long as it was a comparable card (jersey-auto of another so-so player would be fine...)

Well, I checked the status a short while later and sure enough it showed that my Gerbe had been replaced:

No...not the jersey parallel, nor the signature parallel...just the regular mirror blue. I hope this is a mistake and that they just entered the wrong card info. I tried to call customer service back in hopes that I could talk to them before the package went out...but as is usually the case with Panini CS, I got the aswering machine.

Does anyone know the Redemptions Manager at Panini? I'd rather not bug Chris with every Panini hiccup, but if someone could help me get in touch with the right person, it would be greatly appreciated.

ask for David Sharp, the CS Manager. You can reach him at [email protected] . Please allow a few days for your reply as he is constantly reaching out to customers to handle their issues as well.

Oh... I didn't realize they have that parallel. ok, now I see your concern. Way too many parallels in that set.

it HAS to be the mirror blue Auto. Why else would it:
1. be in the redemption system
2. why wouldn't all 99 copies have been inserted into packs since they would have been built with every other non-auto card that was made

You might also try to contact Tracy Hackler I think is his name. The guy that writes the Panini blogs. That's what I did and I got my replacement cards a couple of weeks later.

I hope you're right, but I will point out that as far as I'm aware the Lafontaine bule mirror auto was not a redemption. It is therefore reasonable to believe that any card has the potential to be used as a redemption replacement. Also, it is my understanding that card companies hold back a certain number of cards when they release a product for the purpose of replacing damaged cards returned by customers. That would explain why they would not have packed out all 99 copies of the non-auto card.

With Panini you never know. Why are all the other 2010-11 Certified Alexander Burmistrov cards live, except for his base rookie? It didn't say signature, so why should he believe it was a signature?
