Panini Redemption Replacement.

First off the customer service rep was great, and was very nice and apologetic over not having my card available.

I bought a box of Prime when it first came out and had pulled a redemption for a trios of Howard / Lidstrom / Datsyuk that is /10. Fast forward till now around 6 months later and i gave a call asking where the card was since this is following the UD timeline of redemptions. With no clear indication of when i may see the card I was offered up a replacement and the second card offered seemed like a fair deal at the time.

I was offered a Dominion All Decade auto of Ovechkin / Datsyuk / Kovlchuk but after receiving the card I have realized that its /25.

Now Im kinda bummed out in the fact that i wasnt offered other cards /10 plus the card that was sent, while a nice grouping of players, is damaged on the foil in the middle of the card. There is no way to miss the damage.:foottap:

I now have to send the card back with tracking which is going to cost me more cash.... this is leaving a sour taste on the situation to say the least and making me wish I had just held fast with the original card.

Personally, I would prefer the Ovechkin/Datsyuk/Kovy triple over the Howard/Lidstrom/Datsyuk even though it is numbered higher than the original card. Then again if I was a Wings fan I might have a different opinion.

The bigger issue to me is the damage which is unfortunate because redemption replacements are obviously hand-picked and packaged so you would think Panini would not send a damaged card. Hopefully it all works out for you in the end.

I agree. Under normal circumstances that's a fantastic replacement for anyone who isn't looking for the Detroit connection of the Howard/Lidstrom/Datsyuk.

But this is the second card this year I've heard of coming from Panini's redemption department that was shipped out damaged even though someone clearly looked right at it and then packed and shipped it anyway. That's horribly disappointing. Say what you want about UD's policies and overuse of redemptions, I hear very few stories about hand picked cards being shipped out damaged.

What exactly is the damage? crease or missing foil?

There is a black mark on the foil where it seems to be missing, it's too bad because it is a nice card.
