According to Beckett, they were issued as media promos and rumored to be available only to members of the media. The only difference from the base is the "Press Release" stamp on the bottom left. I hadn't seen a copy of the Roy before this one came up, and only see 4 total listed on eBay at the moment.

They are insanely difficult to find. When I collected Roenick, I never saw one in almost 20 years. Just last year, I was able to grab a Brad Isbister which I had also had been looking for at least 15 years.

I don't know how many copies there is for the Press Releases but everything indicates they are super rare. So this sounds like one heck of a deal you made. Myst be nice to find some cheap Roy cards once in a while

I would say it was up for less than an hour, I check listings very frequently during the day and caught this one pretty quick. Definitely love to get a great deal every once in a while, it certainly helps ease the pain on other purchases for rare cards.

Lastly, I picked this up without looking at it initially. When I got it, I noticed the teardrop punch on the bottom left, and no serial number on the card. I am assuming it is a Promo of some sort, but if anyone has information on these, it would be greatly appreciated!

That's the thing of it, I didn't notice the punch, I just thought it was the /299 version that I need for the PC. Do you know if it is a promo, and if they have punched versions for both releases?
