all I can say is wow, if NE wins Underwood still gets a ring at least

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Patriots released WR Tiquan Underwood Saturday night, less than 24 hours prior to the kickoff of Super Bowl XLVI.
CAPTION
By Eric ***, AP

Underwood's hairdo -- reminiscent of the Kid 'N Play days with a shaved-in Patriots logo to boot -- got him noticed in the week leading up to the game.

Underwood caught three passes for 30 yards in the regular season. He's played in both of New England's playoff games but hasn't caught a pass since Dec. 18.

DE Alex Silvestro was promoted from the practice squad to take Underwood's roster spot. Silvestro played in one game this season and made two tackles.

Why do that to someone just before the game? If they've been with you all season and you don't need them on-field, just bench them. It seems like a tasteless move, but I don't know that much about football.

Underwood kept things in perspective, and showed some real class. Via twitter: “This Is Nothing But MOTIVATION.... I Been Thru A LOT...But There Are Ppl In This World w/ More Serious Problems So I Cant Hang The Head....Thank You Lord … Good Luck To The New Enland Organization, The Coaches, & All My Teammates... #PatsNation”

Regardless, he was on the active roster long enough that 1. He gets a full playoff share and 2. He will get a ring if the Pats win. The timing appears to really suck, but it also kept the Giants from claiming him until Monday, so they can't get him to use him for info.

It appears to me that Underwood knew in advance that it was coming - do you really think that a coach would just outright cut a guy loose without telling him beforehand before possibly the biggest game of his life?

I have to think it has a lot to do with #3 on the list.

also... I watch every pats game and he had a few passes thrown his way that were picked off. 1 that resulted in Brady and the OC O'Brian getting into the yelling match that was broadcast everywhere. why? because Tiquan-DOH did not try to defend the pass in any way. You screw up in N.E. you dont play. just ask Steven ridley. played good at the end of the year, fumbles against the Broncos and gets benched against the Ravens.

if the Pats win he will receive a ring and any bonus money. Gotta love all the Pats haters that get a little extra "fuel" for their fires. a little over 6 hours to kickoff. like Bart Scott sitting on his couch would say "Can't wait"
