Payment Pending in Paypal?

Hi guys,

Don't sell very much, only once in a while. I have never seen this before.

Apparently somebody paid me by "e-check" on June 20 and now paypal says it's on hold until June 29. that's a nine day hold.

Do you guys get this type of payment from buyers often? Is there anyway to not accept it? I mean holding for nine days is really quite an inconvenience. It is not a huge amount but is not chump change either, so I was hoping to get access to the funds a bit sooner.

People pay sometimes like that if they don't have any funds in their account at the time it comes straight from their bank account. But be carefull and make sure you don't ship the item until payment clears just in case they don't have the money or they cancel the e check

it happens. be sure not to mail anything out until payment clears.

e-checks are common from paypal and unfortunately is an option anyone can use. Consider it a contract for payment and wait until it clears before shipping

I just paid for an item the other day and realized that my CC had expired and the only way I could pay was with e-check. It's a pain in the *** for both parties involved in my opinion but unfortunatley was the only option I had at the time.

yeah it's a bit of a pain. Thanks for all your advise. I know enough at least to not ship until it clears.
