Hi All,
I usually don't point these scam emails out but this one was interesting. I can see some new paypal users maybe falling for this. First reaction is to click on the dispute this payment (where I would have to log in and the scammer gets your paypal information). I opened another internet page and went to paypal logged in to my account and surprise surprise no such payment was issued or charged to me. These clowns are getting too smart. Anyhow if it helps even one person its worth it.

I can't seem to copy and paste it or save the spoof email (strange).

It says I bought a
Nokia 7280 Color screen camera
$309.84us
And the seller is from Fresno, CA (it actually gives full name and address again strange)?

But if you didn't buy such a thing why would you even check on it guys? I've gotten those too and knew there is no way and it was a scam...

Anyone says they take $300+ out of my paypal account I will check it. Stranger things have happened, I have had money put in my account before by mistake so it wouldn't surprise me to have it come out haha.

The scams are not getting better...in fact, these spoof emails are easy to spot WITHOUT opening simply by going to your ebay/paypal account on another screen and check your messages. If the message ISN'T there you DON'T even need to bother with the email that went to your private email (aol. yahoo or whatever).

IF you ever open these emails EVEN if you don't click on to their "links" you open yourslef up to more bogus "ebay/paypal" messages. Hope that helps.

I also received a similiar email from a poser. I believe mine was a camera and in the high $300's. All I did was report it, and it was confirmed w/in 12 hours that it was a fake.

I got that a few times. All I do is put my mouse arrow over the link to see its not directed to paypal. Then go directly to my paypal acct to see if that charge is there. I always disregard e-mails when it comes to paypal. Then forward the e-mail to [email protected] and cc it to [email protected].
