Pens Offer Jagr 1 yr Deal

Not sure I want him back on my team. I still have some sour grapes from the way he acting before leaving the team.
I had to edit this....I didn't proof read at the time and it read like crap once I did.
It has been long time...the man is nearly 40 and should have an improved attitude. I actually would not boo him today. And probably if I was at games where he played the Pens for the first 3 years I would have only booed him the first year....while the "wounds were still fresh".
I admit I have not put on the Jagr jersey since he was traded but I have a Lemieux, Crosby and Staal that make more sense to wear.

Now I might actually boo him if he signs in detroit or else where but mainly because it would make all the talk about wanting to come back he has done, utter BS...if both of the following are true: he wanted in the 2 million range and the Pens offer was in that range.
I doubt if RS talked to Jagr's agent and was told he wanted 4 mill the talks would have not gone beyond that (looked up Jagr's net worth ...it is reported in the 40 mill range).

Crosby, Malkin, and Jagr. that's disgusting. you have 3 game changers -- any of which who can literally carry the team on his back by himself on any given night. and of course the Pens can also play without any of them (as proven this season).

Jagr can't be the workhorse he used to be anymore but he wouldn't be needed in that capacity anyway. WOW.

He played hard, most of the time in NY, in my opinion. I watched him at the World Championships... He's still got a little left in the tank.

It's between Pitt/Mont/Wings. Red Wings have offered more money than Pitt so Jagr is using them to get Pitt and Mont to pony up to the $2.5 mill offered. This has been dragging on for 2 weeks now and honestly I don't care if he signs with the Wings. Pens or Mont can have the guy!

Here's the news on Jagr.

11:35 a.m. There will be no Jaromir Jagr in Pittsburgh next season. The pittsburgh Penguins have withdrawn their offer for the Czech forward, a move they announced by e-mail just minutes ago. "We made what we thought was a very fair contract offer to Jaromir on Tuesday, based on his stated interest of returning to the Penguins," GM Ray Shero said in the statement. "We made our best offer from the start, given our salary cap structure, in an attempt to facilitate the deal. But now, after several days, with an extended time frame for making a decision, and additional teams getting involved, we have decided to move in a different direction. It was never our intention to get involved in a free-agent bidding war, and we have to focus on our team. Jaromir is one of the greatest pLayers in Penguins history and we wish him all the best."

Kind of glad they didn't do it. They really need to sign TK and Talbot back to the team.
