I knew it would happen but why now...it should have happened 2 months ago, when Todd McClennan was fired, or even after it was obvious the Spooner trade was yet another indication that PC has absolutely no idea what he is doing. (I already knew that after the Hall trade). And don’t get me started on the Manning trade..what the heck was that.
And He signed Koskinen to an insane contract just two days ago. I just don’t understand the logic behind this with so much more time to assess the goalie situation. I’ve heard all the scenarios like it was a team decision, so maybe that wasn’t all on PC, but he was obviously part of it any way one spins it.
This cow dung has single-handedly decimated the team over the past few years with his ridiculous trades and ludicrous contracts being given out, making our cap troubles worse and worse each growing month and season, all while setting the Oilers back at least another 5 years.
This 3 game losing skid has me rather ticked off to be honest and I have doubts on any post season here again. Regardless, a sign of some relief here, at least from myself... as an impatient, frustrated, but still dedicated Oiler fan.
Next step...fire Bob Nicholson as he approved and applauded everything Chia Pet did. Not to mention is the idiot who hired and endorsed him in the first place.
For now, it looks like Keith Gretzky will be assuming his duties for the interim.
And someone from the Oilers senior management please call up someone like Steve Yzerman, beg him to be the next GM and rebuild this team around Connor. If it costs Katz $10 million a year for the next 5 years to acquire his services...just do it.
