Let's say you were making a trading card that featured memorabilia of nine players from one team. Who do you think are the nine best players of all-time of that franchise.

Who would be the nine players on your favorite team of all-time.

Choosing the nine players from the Original Six teams may be as difficult as choosing the nine players from some of the newer teams because of all the great players to choose from.

You never know, you might see your choice of nine players on a hockey card one day.

So name the nine best players from your favorite franchise.

Let's have some some.

Brian Price

Habs: Price, Subban, Roy, lafleur, Robinson, dryden, plante, Harvey, rocket

To keep it relevant to today I chose to include price and pk since they are the most elite habs since patrick.

New Jersey Devils:

Martin Brodeur
Scott Stevens
Scott Niedermayer
Ken Daneyko
Claude Lemieux
Patrik Elias
John MacLean
Randy McKay
Bobby Holik

On the other hand here's some that I'd love to see in devils uniform. Players that had shorter career with the Devils: Vanbiesbrouck, Gilmour, Tikkanen, Peluso, Rafalski, Arnott, Sykora, Rafalski, Housley, Burke, Neal Broten, Shanahan.

Chicago Blackhawks:

Stan Mikita
Harold "Mush" March
Glenn Hall
Bobby Hull
Tony Esposito
Pierre Pilote
Bill Mosienko
Denis Savard
Steve Larmer

Honorable mentions: Doug Wilson, Pit Martin, Dennis Hull, Patrick Kane, Jeremy Roenick, Jonathan Toews, Chris Chelios, Tony Amonte, Douglas Bentley, Ken Wharram, Bob Murray, Chiko Maki, Duncan Keith.

Pittsburgh Penguins: Mario Lemieux, Ron Francis, Jaromir Jagr, Tom Barrasso, Larry Murphy, Paul Coffey, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kevin Stevens.

Red Wings

-Yzerman
-Sawchuk
-Howe
-Fedorov
-Hasek
-Shanny
-Zetterberg
-Lidstrom
-Datsyuk or Chelios or rafalski or lindsay or Holmstrom or delvecchio or abel.... the ninth is a hard one for me...

but on a side note, i would also love a quad auto of:
-ozzy
-Hasek
-Vernon
-Sawchuk

and a triple of the grind line:
-Maltby
-draper
-McCarty

and a fives auto of the Russian five:
-Sergei Fedorov
-Igor Larionov
-Vyacheslav Kozlov
-Vladimir Konstantinos
-Viacheslav Fetisov

if any of these were made i would be eternally grateful!!

Also i know they are not an original six but there are a tone of great Penguins players and not just upper deck but all cards companies have neglected to put multi player auto's together of them... there would be some of the most amazing cards to date.

Sean.

For the Canucks, I'd love to see a card with the more colourful characters like Harold Snepts, Gino Odjick, Tiger Williams, etc... but in terms of best players:

Gotta go with the four guys who've had their jerseys retired...

Stan Smyl
Markus Naslund
Trevor Linden
Pavel Bure

Not that I'm biased or anything but the next two candidates:

Daniel Sedin
Henrik Sedin

A couple pretty clear choices in the crease...

Kirk McLean
Roberto Luongo

There were a number of guys I thought about for my final pick... Richard
Brodeur, Thonas Gradin, Mattias Ohlund, Jyrki Lumme, Tony Tanti... but I think the best choice perhaps not for his playing career but also as a Hall of Fame coach/gm/president would be

Pat Quinn

Montreal
Vezina
Hainsworth
Joliat
Morenz
M Richard
Beliveau
Plante
Dryden
Roy

Lucky19

Good choices.

I had Foote instead of Sundin and Hedjuk instead of Drury. Our other seven were the same.

oh i like this, but instead of Dryden i'd have Lalonde!! and probably instead of Hainsworth i'd go with Joe Malone.

Calgary Flames:

Iginla
McDonald
MacInnis
Nieuwendyk
Vernon
Fleury
Mullen
Kiprusoff
Gilmour

Very close to my list.

Iginla
MacInnis
Fleury
Kiprusoff
McDonald
Nieuwendyk
Vernon
Mullen
Loob

I thought Loob had a bigger impact on the franchise than GIlmour.
