Pinnacle Select - Gold Team

[Uhtred the Viking]

My recent COMC order allowed me to complete this 10 card set from 1995/96 Pinnacle Select. It's called Gold Team, and features top NHL players from that era.

Imagine for a moment that you left your cards spread out on a table. You had a container of gold paint sitting near by. Your cat jumps up on the table and knocks the paint over, covering your cards. That's what these cards bring to mind when I see them, so much gold!

My scanner isn't a fan of the gold foil, so they look a bit dark, even though I did brighten them up a bit.

I decided to clean up the presentation, wasn't too crazy about the framing of the cards. Since I don't know if we can simply replace an image I'll post the new page here.

It’s been awhile since these were released, but it’s a great example of ‘90’s sets that can still be found, and continue to give us so much pleasure.

Rookie Roll Call is another set I'm adding to over time. So shiny and colorful!

Have you thought about adding the Orr Auto to compliment the set?

I didn't dig that deeply into the set. Don't think I'll chase it, as recent Iginla & Yzerman purchases keep me very busy and they can be expensive.
