PLEASE DO NOT SEND cards in plain white envelope (PWE) - stuff always happens in those sorting machines!!!

My story: I collect Mark Brunell and one of my new projects is collecting his college jersey # cards #11/xxx - I found this one #11/75...but it came in a PWE - card was in a soft sleeve and toploader, but look at what happened!

10 freaking creases!!!

Sorry to hear of such a bad thing but when I say this I am not for the white envelope but of the over 50 I have recieved cards in I have never had a card damaged. If the person mailing the item uses the heavy card board then there isn't a problem. Let me tell you I had cards bent from the bubble mailers , it is just a freak thing & I don't support the white envelope unless it is done the old fashion way which is to pieces of heavy cardboard & some butcher paper and some twine that my friends works all the time much better than the flimsy bubble mailers.
My two cents......

I don't do white envelopes, but it's funny how people want to be cheap on shipping and tell you to send in white envelope, but then complaint when they get a card in that condition. So, maybe I could use this post as an example and tell them, I'm not responsible if they want to save $1 and for me to send in plain envelope.

I hate it when that happens! Like when you spend 3 bucks on shipping on ebay, of one of you're cards you really need and then it comes in a regular mail envelope, and even if it does or not get damaged it will still piss me off!

I totally agree but let me also add just a bit about jersey cards as some of the creases look like they would be in the correct spot for jersey cards...many jersey cards have creases already due to the fact that the material makes the card thicker and thus when the jersey is inserted into the card it will create a crease, but that only explains 3 to 4 of the creases. White Env. is just flat out the wrong way to send a card imo...sorry to have read the story on this one

The best is when you pay $3 for S & H and they ship it in a PWE and laugh because they made $2 bucks. I really don't like them either. So what are you going to do with it now?

I however do believe three of those creases are from the patch or jersey itself man, the one's around the gu that is, that usually happens when it's too thick for the card like like hocketown said!

This was an ebay purchase - sellers name withheld because I am trying to work out a resolution...I would never send in a PWE unless it was a thin card (Like 2006 Topps TOTAL), requested and I could replace it. In other words, I don't!

Sorry to read about this and hopefully you & the seller can work something out?

that really bites. i hope that you can work something out but still it is not like you'll never be able to get that card again. sorry :(

I got one back last week in a PWE with out a toploader. The card was in a penny sleeve. I opened it up and said WTF is this. $3.00 for shipping for this ****.

Here's the "before" picture and the description of the auction - you be the judge!
"Your bidding on a mint 2004 Leaf Rookies & Stars - Mark Brunell #94, and also numbered 11/75!! 'Longevity' GAME USED JERSEY INSERT football card!! It is in a top loader and soft sleeve. It would probably get a PSA 10. It has a 'white' swatch of his Jersey!!!! Bidder pays $3.00 s/h. Good Luck on this STAR memorabilia card!!! GO RED SKINS GO" I highlighted several words!

It has happened to me so many times, I just drop negatives now. I give the seller a chance to fix the problem, but usually they never respond (until I drop the negative).
