I might just be missing sometime obvious, but I am trying to get a player checklist from Beckett and struggling with it.

I have no trouble LOCATING the checklist, but when copy/pasting it to another document I get each and every "buy pricing" etc, which with 1,000+ entries for "cam neely" would take a lifetime to edit out.

Is there a way to do this that I am missing or is actually going to be necessary to copy and paste each line individually? Is there somewhere I can click to display the list in a more printable/copy-able format?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Some thoughts:

Where are you pasting it? If it's Excel, try pasting as unformatted text (Use Edit | Paste Special). It should be easier to delete the columns where that data is.

If you haven't tried OpenOffice or Google Docs, now is a great time. Especially the Google Docs (http://docs.google.com).

Sorry I don't have my steps handy, or I'd gladly walk you through it.

I found pasting it into a text document, deleting all the garbage then pasting it into google docs which allows me to access checklists at work and my phone

Oooo google docs allowed me to paste it into a spreadsheet and delete the entire columns. Numbers (I'm on a mac) wasn't seeming to allow me to do that.
Thanks for the heads up guys, appreciated!

Can someone post a link to where on Beckett I can get a checklist? I used to be able to pull it up and print it out with the checkboxes next to each card but I haven't been able to find it and REALLY miss that part of Beckett. Can someone post the link or PM me the link? PLEASE!!!

Google Docs is great. Frankly, using Google Chrome and offline access on a PC, it's an ideal, lightweight office suite.

Cheers,

I believe it's completely deadzies. I don't believe they have that function anymore.

Don't worry. There will be an alternative.

After being at this for a little while it's clear this is going to be a huge project...
Typing "Cam Neely" in to Beckett provided me with 1100+ cards! I'm not even sure if they're all unique, etc, yet. But that seems like it must be close to a full checklist?

It should be close. Between that, and hockeydb.com's card checklist, there's a good foundation. Not to mention keeping a saved search on eBay might help you discover anything else.

Marty had 4300 entries when I did my wantlist.

Almost went nuts doing it. LOL

Older Beckett was so much easier getting the lists. I miss it so baaad....

find & replace is your friend, I just pasted into a text doc when I made mine, pretty sure there were less than 10-15 things I needed to remove, I just did find/replace, pasted what i wanted out in the find box & left the replace box blank. Takes all of 5 minutes :)
