Player Collectors:how long have you been at it?

March 2008 was the start of my Pavel Bure PC, currently I have around 900 cards. For my own sanity and sake of my wallet I don't chase anything released after Bures retirement. I love adding anything to my PC, no matter how small. I know I will never hit 100% but I don't mind.
 
3 years now on the Giroux PC, about a year and a half on Carle.

I had collected Gagne and Richards since the lockout, but lost interest once they were traded since I started focusing on Giroux anyway.
 
Lets see... 1987 is when I started collecting overall and picked up some hockey about a year after that. Yzerman collection - since '88 would be a fair estimate. Though I am like Steve (Quincy) - 2010 was my last year to try and get most things that I would generally collect. From now on it's down to the do I really, really, REALLY like it? Otherwise, just trying to fill holes from the past 15 years.

The Bowling Green players that I collect - I am still trying to hunt down the last few pieces for some of them (less than 3 on all of them). I don't have any plans of starting any new collections otherwise. I have one football player I still actively collect and that's it.
 
00/01 for Hawerchuk for me, though I've had to really restrict buying since UD started including him in everything; just not enough money to keep my daughter going in her hockey playing and to keep our hobby buying strong...

Started collecting 1995 when I was 10 years old.

My Vanbiesbrouck collection started 1996 ( now 968 different cards+replica mask,few jerseys etc.)
Luongo 2001 ( 987 and counting,also signed jersey+figures etc)
Weiss 2004 (302 +GU Jersey)
Horton 2004 (322)
Olesz 2005 (64)
A.Stewart 2005 (62)
Salak 2008 (30ish)
(I have also been picking Shawn Matthias since 2009,I have around 40)
 
My Brandon Sutter habit started in 2006 when I first saw him In RedDeer, and My flames stuff got started wayyyyyy back in '86 when they went to the cup final, no need to remind me of the outcome, and I only pick up what catches my eye as there are lots of flames stuff to collect.
 
Collected Mario Lemieux starting in 1991, also collected Tom Glavine too, both of those ended in 1996 when I started collecting everything Damon Stoudamire. In 1998 I got into Mike Bibby and Michael Dickerson. In 2002, I stopped all basketball collections and started collecting Milan Hejduk and Richie Sexson. Stopped Richie soon after and I am still picking up Hejduk items here and there. 800 and something and counting
 
I started collecting Osgood cards when his first WHL card came out in 1990.

I've taken a few breaks over the years due to starting/running my own business, but I'm still over 93% for the entire run and always hopefully I can inch closer to the mythical 100%

Anderson, Crawford, and Munro - 2004
Larry Walker - 1990-1997, picked back up on a part time basis just to fill in the holes prior to 1997

Now I am just down to Khabby and Craig.

I collect Fedorov 4 and half year and has cca 1020 cads
and Darren McCarty maybe a 2 and half years ago and has 160 of his cards yet.
All collections with bigger or smaller stops.
 
I started collecting Marty Brodeur and Eddie Belfour in 05-06. nothing hardcore, just picking up what I can.

about 1 and a half years ago I stopped collecting all together. Due to lack of funds and other commitments.

But at the start of 2011 (February to be exact) I got back into collecting. That's when I started up my Mike Mole PC. now his cards were produced in 08-09, so I was years behind. But I've currently collected 92% of his cards and 3 1/1's. I'm 3 cards away from getting to 100% (minus all the 1/1's)

I don't have any plans on stopping soon, it's just too fun!!
