So I bought this Jack Johnson can it finally arrived today. LINK

Problem is its damaged! The card is flaking right where it says "jersey" on the right side. Ill be honest, if I had looked closely the sellers picture shows that the card is damaged. There is no also written description. What can/should I do? Any suggestion would help as this is the first time I am dealing with something like this. My last question is, will Upper Deck replace it?

Thanks!

No, UD will not replace it. It is not pack-pulled by you plus it is serial-numbered and autographed. No serial number makes it an easy swap if they have stock. Unless they have some of these uninserted into packs you are out of luck there.

As far as the card damage itself, contact the seller and ask him. Maybe he is unaware and will refund you some money on your good word or maybe he'll say tough luck.

My guess is the latter. Best of luck.

I will say that I have had luck with UD submitting a card that was auto'd, with a patch and numbered under 100 and they did replace it - that being said, I pulled it from the pack so it is a different situation but that is a little better news anyway.

As Barrie says above - get in touch with the seller and see if s/he is willing to do anything for you - with the new feedback system in place I would think they would be willing to work with you a little bit but who knows.

Good luck -
Joe

That's a prewtty fuzzy picture of the card. Did you pay with Paypal? If so, I'd file a "item not as described" dispute and contact the seller to see what he says. The problem is if you have to send it back, you'll need to send it with tracking to ensure you can prove to Paypal that he received it, then you'll get a refund. It's alot to do... Good luck

The scan is not great but try to be polite in asking for some resolution. He can easily say it was scanned and that's it. I agree with Barrie but let's hope neither of us is right

Thanks for the input. I was ready to file a "item not as described" claim with paypal but then I saw that there was no description on his listing. I will go ahead and contact the seller and hope for the best. I just sent a polite letter to the seller.

Why would he/she even put a damaged card up for auction?

Thanks for the help.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

I bought a damaged card for my PC last year which was #d /10 because I hadn't seen another to date in the 3 years I'd been waiting for that card to pop up. Tell me you wouldn't buy a damaged version of that card as a placeholder in the least if you waited 3 years for it to pop up :)
