The Buffalo Sabres have avoided arbitration with restricted free agent forward Jason Pominville, agreeing to terms on a multi-year deal.
In his rookie season with Buffalo in 2005-06, Pominville acored 18 goals and 12 assists in 57 games, notching 10 power-play goals and two game winners. The 23-year-old Pominville started the season in Rochester (AHL), and was leading the league with 19 goals in 18 games at the time of his recall on November 26.
As well:
Toni Lydman, a five-year NHL veteran, will make $2.3 million next season, $2.9 million in 2007-08 and $3.15 million in each of the next two years. He made $1.9 million last season, his first with Buffalo after being acquired from Calgary.
