In case anyone's curious for an update, I was able to successfully bring the box back to Wal Mart for a refund. I explained the process to the clerk and showed her the email response and tweets I got back from Upper Deck and explained that they were repackaged. She was very open-minded and wasn't surprised to hear they were repackaged. She even knew the guy who has purchased a lot of the blasters and returned them, and thought something was fishy but had no way to prove anything. I went to the card section and noticed a few more repackaged blasters and brought them to the staff's attention and they said they were going to remove them from the shelves and hopefully not allow returns on cards without UD-branded plastic wrap.

So that's a small victory, right?

Sounds actually like a pretty big victory if you are just "a random customer". Well done, you probably saved the Christmas of a kid or two.
