Someone I know had mentioned Preacher as being a pretty good series to read and I was curious to know who else here had read it all and if it would be one I should give a try. I just, just started getting back into comics and really have no clue of anything worth reading thats old or new besides what I remember from when I was a kid :)

Preacher is a fantastic series, it is Garth Ennis at his best. It is very well written and the art work is great. I suggest you buy the first trade and give the series a try, you can get a trade for around $14 and that will give you the first 8-10 issues and I think the preview. The first app is in absolute vertigo but its only a couple page test story, I wouldn't concern myself with that. I feel I should warn you that the series is very violent and crosses and pushes some boarders of relgion and politics.

I give the series 2 big thumbs up!!

Thanks, I'm deciding on whether or not I want to grab to the trades or if the actual comics would be better to grab :) May try the trade then move to the comics if I like it.

Also was told that Kick-*** is actually a guilty pleasure type comic worth reading so that may be on the list too

Yes Kick *** is good, a little slow coming out but it is worth picking up.

I recommend buying the first TP of Preacher to make sure you like it, first prints of the preview and the first few issues are not cheap. Before investing several hundred bucks you should deide if you like it.

Its up there with his best works!

If you like that try the current run of Battlefields mini that he has just put out. 3 titles and 3 issues for each (variant on each issue 1) they are great reads and can be picked up for pretty cheap
