Predict the next Leafs Trade or acquisition

Roberto Luongo is reportedly not willing to waive his no-trade clause to head to Toronto or Chicago.

That could change, but if it doesn't, that might tie the Vancouver Canucks hands. The Toronto Maple Leafs are believed to be the team most interested in Luongo's services. At the same time, if this report is true, then it should greatly increase the odds that the Leafs are going to attempt to bolster their goaltending through the free agent market.

Wade Redden for nothing. Hey they used to covet Kaberle and McCabe, it could happen.....

Seriously though, I could see them making a big push for Luongo (although personally I think Luo is terribly overrated). Thomas on the other hand..... He doesn't want to play, so I don't know how trading for him helps anyone.

And this is why you dont believe fools on twitter. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=399234

and i quote " Luongo was never actually asked to submit an official list of acceptable teams to the Canucks and he hasn't unequivocally ruled out Toronto or any other logical destination at this point, though it's obvious he'd be happy to be a Panther again."

I'll go with them trading with Burke's old team and finding a way to get Bobby Ryan, even though I don't think he fits their big needs per se.

Likely not happening. JVR being moved out of Philly screams to me that the Flyers are where Ryan will end up. Just not sure what Philly moves for him (Coburn and picks/prospects?)

The move the Leafs should do is back up the brinks truck to Marty Brodeur on July 1st. That would help to solve the biggest problem they have had since Eddy 'The Eagle' left.

Not saying he will sign but you have to make a run at him because it won't cost you picks or players just cash.

Great guy to mentor Reimer.

Armstrong will get claimed of waivers. Too bad injuries have limited his games so much.

I love reading all the comments after these articles by the mindless Leafs fans that give all of us a bad name. When, just when is the player actually gonna be held accountable for their poor performance? It's easier just to blame Burke, but in reality this guy was suppose to do a job, and was paid well doing so, and although he had a lot of bad luck with injuries, truth is when he was playing he just didn't produce the way he was suppose to produce.

It's laughable that the idiots of Leafs nation constantly blame Burke for these
deals. If you don't perform at your job, does your boss get blamed for hiring you? No you get fired, period! The boss doesn't get blamed for your poor performance, you do.

Another thing, not one of those idiots who constantly bash Burke even considered the fact that by releasing Armstrong, that maybe he's freeing up cap space to bring in a much more expensive player that will benefit the Leafs better than Colby can. I guess we'll find out tomorrow, or there after?

Question for all you Leaf fans - is there still gas in the tank on Armstrong and do you think he can stay healthy for 60-65 games a year?

He seems to be the type of player that could really help a team with some leadership and grit but obviously that isn't so much the case if he can't stay on the ice.

He's just a puzzle piece for a team on the verge, but in all honesty he didn't impress me even when he was healthy. I don't understand why he had all the hype he got. His leadership skills can definitely help a team, but he's not gonna pile up many points, IMO.

I think his body is just breaking down from his style of play. I doubt that he can stay healthy but GMs continue to over pay players even the ones who fail to perform or are high risk.

Why would Brodeur come to Toronto? He's on his last legs. I'm sure he's going to want to go to a team that has a chance of achieving something

He's won his cups, so I don't think that's as big a deal. Here's hoping I am right and he signs with Toronto!!!
