Just curious if anyone is watching and seeing if anyone is noticing some good performances that might be indicative of the upcoming season?

I have watched only a few game highlights, so not all, but do like to review the box scores. The preseason brings a lot of prospects and rookies into the game that usually haven’t seen action during the regular season yet, or are getting a chance to try to make the NHL roster.

Performances: Logan Cooley for Arizona…yeah, the spin and shot for goal, definitely talented, but he is on Arizona, so we’ll see how he and the rest of the team develop around the existing squad.
Laffy for NY Rangers…no points in the game I saw but he was the 1st assist on a bunch of chances that were so close to being goals. If he plays consistently and his teammates and him start hitting the twines more than the posts, he could have a breakout year.

Off the scoresheets: it looks like plenty of rookies (drafted 22 or 23) are making their impact in their games. If not, there is the “veteran presence” that is there…and by veteran presence, I mean young players who have some NHL experience over the last 2 years.
Nylander younger brother: with Penguins now, has talent, scored a goal in the 1st preseason game. Hopefully he makes an impact this year and the injury bug doesn’t.

And Vancouver…0-10!!! Yeah, preseason, but still, not a good performance from anyone on that team. You can do better!

Please chime in…who do you see as a surprise player/performance that was outstanding and could reflect a bright future?
