What is everyone's thoughts on Presidents Choice cards? Does it matter to you that they don't have an official license? Recently I have been watching some breaks of their Solitaire product and I must say that the memorabilia on those cards is amazing. IMO, it rivals and is better than most of UD's memorabilia products. Stickwork is also amazing. I don't know how Dr Price got all of this but he certainly is making great cards. And all of the Solitaire product is 1/1's. Upper Deck just cannot match that. So, I am really curious as to how people feel about PCTC.

Ben, I love the President's Choice cards...I have picked up A LOT of them!

Like you said, great memorabilia and super quality cards, too.

Yeah the memorabilia is second to none. ITG had amazing memorabilia and amazing cards. Even when Leaf took over they were making some interesting cards with the newly acquired memorabilia. Now as President's Choice the memorabilia and cards are amazing.

For me I do not mind that they have no license. I must admit that some of the air-brushed cards just do not look proper and are unappealing to me but overall I have never minded the ITG, Leaf or President's Choice stuff.

Love their cards. Of all of the companies out there, I’m most confident in the authenticity of their memorabilia.

Is that because you put more trust in what Dr. Price puts his name to or because you have doubts about others?

I think PCTC have put out some fantastic cards and I’m definitely a fan.

I like them, and have several in my collection already.

The memorabilia is top notch, and they work with what they can as far as pictures go, and not having a license. Not every card or product they make is necessarily amazing - but enough of them are, that I'm always very interested in seeing new checklists come out, and crossing my fingers there will be another card or two for me to chase.

In most respects, no different than any other card company: There are things they do that I like, there are things they do that aren't to my tastes. I will echo Ryan's confidence in their memorabilia authenticity. I've seen the rigor Brian Price brings to authenticating, and I have confidence in his process.

All that said, I'm quite happy to have added several pieces to my collection.

I’ve seen firsthand the pains Dr Price goes through to obtain provenance for each piece of memorabilia. If he even has a SMALL bit of doubt, he passes.

The other companies on the other hand have been a part of some very public shenanigans to obtain their “game used” items, never mind the shift to “event worn” memorabilia to cut costs.

I am as massive of a PCTC, ITG and I’ll throw Leaf company in there although it is not Dr. Price’s company.

I’ll take a product that has game used memorabilia over photoshoot jerseys any day.
I’ll take a product that the majority of the players on the checklist are HOF players over whatever years rookie crop make up the majority of the checklist.

If anyone is ever in doubt of what ITG/PCTC could do against UD I will point then strait to CHL cards. Does anyone believe that UD does a better job with CHL cards than what ITG did with Heroes and Prospects? I highly doubt it.

I will admit to being kinda conflicted on prices of cards. I really wish the PCTC, ITG and Leaf cards would sell for a lot more. They deserve more respect. On the opposite side I have bought so many cards at a fraction of the price though.

niche market...great for player collectors. Dr Price certainly has a passion for the hobby and we should be happy for that. but again small market with a small following

As a HOF collector, I have a ton of ITG and PCTC items in my personal collection. The memorabilia used is second to none, and authenticity is rock solid. Throw in the fact that Dr. Price will work with individual collectors to design and produce unique cards for their wants, they can't be beat imo.

I think your avatar answers all questions about PCTC.

I own 2 custom Giacomins that are straight up stunning in person. I remember the day I got them and first saw them, I literally blurted out "oh WOW!". I was expecting something nice, but they blew "nice" out of the water.

People who know me will know I can't speak without a bias (I have sold Dr. Price's releases through ITG and then President's Choice for more than 15 years now, written card backs for his sets and just been plain friends), but no one works harder to 1) verify the authenticity of anything he acquires, 2) make collectors happy and 3) put value into every product he produces.

He has the best stuff because he always acquired the best stuff and - trust me - he has amazing stuff left to use.

Count me as a huge fan of President's Choice cards, I have quite a few. I really enjoy the different themes that Dr. Price uses, and finding so many memorabilia cards from the 60's and before is something I appreciate. Also, having the opportunity to collect mto cards for your pc is a real treat!
